Dawn of the Tiberium Age (DTA) is a stand-alone mod that combines Tiberian Dawn (C&C 95) and Red Alert. While classic mode gets as close to the original game-play and balance as possible, Enhanced mode provides improved game balance and a lot of fun new stuff. DTA features many customization options for Skirmish and multiplayer (where you can play as GDI, Nod, Allies and Soviet on over 200 maps), challenging original singleplayer missions, as well as co-op missions. Since this is a stand-alone mod, you don't require anything but the mod itself to be able to play: the original game is not required.
A new map created by me (Rampastring). It will be included with the next update.
The thick swamp forests are only passable for infantry, which means that using infantry here gives you more opportunities and attack/flank paths.
The corners of the map have Oil Derricks for you to capture.
You guys make A LOT of maps. Not saying more maps is a bad thing, but maybe its time the launcher got some new options for sorting/filtering maps? say like, via some tags, how many players the map has, whether its for 2v2, 3v3, for naval, whether the map is co-op or not, etc. i know that there is a search function, and the game modes dropdown filters out some things as well (such as via co-op), but it would be nice if it had a more modernized approach to searching/filtering. would be nice. :)
You can already do most that with the search function:
- All maps have the player count as part of the name, so if you for example want to view all 6-player maps, you can just type "6" to the search box (without the quotes).
- Naval maps have (Naval) in their name, so if you want to view all naval maps, you can type "naval" into the box (again, without the quotes).
What it doesn't work for is finding maps designed for specific setups like 2v2 or 3v3, but most of our 6-player maps work for 3v3 and most of our 4-player maps for 2v2 (regardless of whether they were specifically designed for only that setup) so I don't think that's a huge issue.
If we ever find the current setup problematic, we'll look into improving it though.
That's a cool map!
Thanks!
