Half-Life: The Core is a classic retelling of the events surrounding the Resonance Cascade disaster from a new perspective. Featuring intense action, complex puzzles and believable narrative through all-new locations in Black Mesa with remarkable visual fidelity, pacing and humour.
So I had a moment this evening when I realised that the last official media post on this page was nearly a year old. We didn't even bother with an April fools post this year!
Just a couple of shots to say that we are still working on it, as usual. These areas have been rebuilt or extended based on the feedback we got from pre-alpha testing. This was necessary to make the opening chapters of the mod a little more interesting to play. Enjoy.
As usual, these are work in progress and liable to change.
Excellent work!
Great work
Amazine works!!
Truly stunning. I'd give the guards inside their station something to do though. few monitors on top the windows for monitoring purposes. Or perhaps a laptop on the desk.
Even a small walkie talkie laying next on that desk would make things more realistic. It's a guard station.. Somebody needs to reach them in case of some problems occurring. Having to approach them directly or through the announcement system may not be enough for a Facility of Black Mesa's magnitude. If worse comes to worse then at the very least a Mesa times on the desk. :D
Eventually add once more tiny key pads next to the doors on the inside.
That being said with exception of these tiny details everything else appears to be flawless. Fantastic work.
Thanks for the input. Though this is indeed a secure area, the office is chiefly for monitoring items coming in and going out of the warehouse. It won't necessarily be a security guard manning this post, but a warehouse supervisor. Some of the items coming in and out will be of a sensitive nature, so the office is kept under lock and key.
Also, you can't see it from this angle but you can in another shot we uploaded. There is a large monitor above the control console.
You're right about the keypads though.
Sounds good Urby... :)
