Noticed that ammo-counter down there indicates it's utilizing actual 5.56 rounds instead of a bunch of 9mm rounds shoveled into a STANAG magazine. This is excellent news c:

Well spotted. It would be pretty dumb loading an M4 with 9mm rounds eh? Even more so with an M16A3. :)

Yay for separate ammo reservoirs! Even though, I still like to utilize the classic MP5.

A new HUD and actual explanation of its existence? That's better than GearBox did in BS.

Well you know what they say, "Randy Pitchford is greasy."

That's not relevant to this discussion as such, but they do say that.

Also, is there going to be a new melee weapon in The Core? Because I'm noticing two cubes on the first column of the HUD.

The hands are a combination of Opposing Force and Blue Shift hands with a new texture for the sleeves.

Description

"Congratulations! You have been chosen to trial the MkIII Black Mesa Security Helmet, currently exclusive to the elite officers that keep our prestigious central complex secure. As well as including a more advanced heads up display which links directly with the security alert and email memorandum system, the addition of a built in radio and camera means that officers can more easily communicate and coordinate in the even of an emergency."

In all these years we've neglected to show off the HUD that will be constantly reminding you how low your ammo is or how close you are to your demise.

That's simply because it has only recently been finalised. Designed by digital_ice with some final amendments by yours truly, The Core's heads up display aims to look a little more advanced than those seen in the HEV suit.

"(legal: Please note any loss or damage to the MkIII BMS Helmet during this trail period will be deducted from subsequent salary payments up to a maximum of 50% until the total value of the lost/damaged item is accounted for. Total value of a single unit is currently estimated at $144,000)"
