Open rebellions drove my friend and I mad in our first 1v1 after the DLC... until we figured out that having your culture on a planet either eliminates or drastically reduces the chance for them to happen. We were getting one each every couple minutes and couldn't fight each other for all the time we spent defending our empires, until we built a couple broadcast centers each and didn't see another one again in the remaining four hours the game lasted.
