This year, we will be kicking off Mod of the Year with a tactical run down of the upcoming New Republic capitalships. Please go to the main page and drop us a vote if you enjoy the work we are doing.

One of the initial capitalships available to the New Republic, the Bothan Assault Cruiser is already a flagship of the hero Captain Kre'fey, and serves the New Republic as a standard capitalship. It now has an excellent new texture that will be released in the New Republic update by Dolynick.

Designed to be a match for slightly larger Imperial Victory class ships, the Bothan Assault Cruiser was quickly put into production at Bothawui after the withdrawal of the Empire. Many other New Republic shipyards built the vessels under license early on while the New Class Program was in development.

While a well designed vessel in her own right, the Bothan Assault Cruiser is well equipped to play to the strengths of her creators. It's diverse armament of turbolasers, ion cannons, and proton torpedoes allow her to exploit weaknesses against many enemies, and her targeting and imaging systems are just as good as any of the newer ships to enter service in the New Republic fleet. In the mod, the Bothan Assault Cruiser serves as a siege capitalship with capabilities that let it excel in space superiority, planet assault, and intelligence gathering roles.

Abilities
1. Quick Reflexes: Passive that increases antimatter regeneration rates, and the ships rate of fire slightly improves while taking damage.
2. Exploit Vulnerabilities: Bothan analysts identify weak points in the enemy target, reducing its damage mitigation.
3. Contact Spies: The ship contacts agents in the Bothan Spy Network for intelligence data, improving bombing damage to an enemy world, and briefly reveals enemies as adjacent planets.
4. Ar'krai: An ancient Bothan war rite, grants a large boost to weapon and bombardment damage of your ships if a specified ally Capitalship, Titan, Starbase, or Planet is destroyed.
