In the waning days of the Clone Wars, Mandalorian warrior-turned Republic Sergeant Kal Skirata had but one objective: to remove the adopted members of his clan from danger and establish a haven for Clone Troopers who had been mistreated and abandoned by the Grand Army of the Republic and the Jedi Order. The Null ARC Commandos, members of Omega and other Clone Commando squads, and a few trusted Jedi who escaped the purge retreated to Skirata's ancestral home Kyrimorut on Mandalore. Skirata then devoted his considerable resources- the Nulls had pulled several very successful, highly unsanctioned operations during the war which helped amass a fortune in credits and munitions- towards a cure for the rapid aging gene bred into clone soldiers. After capturing the Kaminoan scientist Ko Sai, he was eventually successful.
During the Galactic Civil War, Mandalore was occupied by the Empire, and Clan Skirata moved its operations offworld to avoid scrutiny of the clone defectors. In the era of the Interregnum, Kal Skirata still acts in the service of his family, offering aid to any faction that suits his interests.
