Star Wars: Interregnum is an upcoming mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion that builds off of the highly successful Enhanced 4X Mod. Fleeing the unknown terror that is chasing the Vasari, the factions of Sins of a Solar Empire stumble on a temporary wormhole that takes them to a galaxy far, far away. The sudden arrival of armadas with trillions of refugees and thousands of warships between the events of Episodes 5 & 6 forever alters the Star Wars universe and plunges the galaxy into an unprecedented period of chaos and violence. Begun, a new conflict has.
A short break from new Mon Calamari textures, Dolynick also took a stab at updating the Dauntless Heavy Cruiser. Of all the work he's done, this one is the hardest for me to believe that its not a new model!
"oh it's beautiful"
All these new textures are amazing, I'm so hyped for the new update so i can see them first hand
He's still got at least a few more to go if he's going to continue to dole them out one at a time while things come together for release. Then there's the other shoe that he hasn't dropped yet either... ;)
How you just gonna tease us like that??
The old texture, combined with its sleek lines, made it too similar to the Mon Calamari capital ships.
Now it is distinct, with a heavy industrial feel.
Nice!
It's funny you should say that as, not being entirely up on all things Star Wars, I actually asked if it was a Mon Calamari design or not due to the original texture.
As for the new texture... There was very little info to go on aside from "heavy plating" and generally not particularly great reference images either. I had to just sort of make it up as I went along here. I wouldn't say that I'm truly happy with the results, but I do think that they are improved from what was there before so I am pleased by that.
Well, the heavy plating suits it I think. After all, it is a siege capital ship, so no doubt will have a beefy bow to trade fire with...
A perfectionist? That means you are a true artist XD
Dauntless class, also known as "Marsheem class" in the new canon.
But not in this mod. ;-) It's still 100% Sullustian.
