Star Wars: Interregnum is an upcoming mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion that builds off of the highly successful Enhanced 4X Mod. Fleeing the unknown terror that is chasing the Vasari, the factions of Sins of a Solar Empire stumble on a temporary wormhole that takes them to a galaxy far, far away. The sudden arrival of armadas with trillions of refugees and thousands of warships between the events of Episodes 5 & 6 forever alters the Star Wars universe and plunges the galaxy into an unprecedented period of chaos and violence. As the New Republic began designing a new generation fleet for its "New Class" program, one of the first places its architects looked for inspiration were battle-hardened ships that proved their worth in the Rebellion. Besides the Mon Calamari Cruisers, the ship most worthy of this attention of the Nebulon-B Frigate, which became the basis for the new Corona class Frigate.
Slightly shorter but more sturdy than the anemic Nebulon-B, the Corona was designed to fulfill the escort role of its predecessor. Armed with enough turbolasers to ward off smaller frigates and corvettes and numerous laser cannon to defend against starfighter strikes, the Corona's are an excellent at screen the more important vessels of the New Republic fleet. It also featured a standard built in fighter bay that could carry a group of X-wing fighters into battle, further improving its versatility in escorting important vessels.
In the mod the Corona serves and the New Republic anti-fighter frigate, most notable for being the only one able to carry fighters of its own that can further help with starfighter supremacy.
I always saw these as just Nebulon-B full armor xP Though interesting that these are just Anti-Fighter Frigates which means you decided on something else to be the main frigate.. I am very curious as to what since I expected this to be main frigate.
It was considered for that role, but then we found something a bit bigger and more heavily armed for a space superiority role. And with a very nice new model, though it's not quite ready to be shown off yet.
Is it the ship that the SOGE call Defender class?.. or was it called Republic class?..I can't remember which one it was that was removed and which stayed.

No not that Republic class it's A Kuat ship known as the Republic class Cruiser. Media.moddb.com here is an image of it.
I really hate the New Republic ship names for stuff like this. There are at least two pairs of ships we want to add, but they have the same name. And for at least one of them, we cannot find any other plausible name (in this case, the KDY Republic Cruiser has no canon image, so this model is just a guess).
This is really dull, but what I'd do is simply have one be "Republic Class" and one be "Republic II Class" even though that isn't how naming conventions work
That implies that they are somehow related though, like Assault Frigate I/II, ISD I/II etc. Here they are totally different types of ships built by different companies. It's just bad naming, hence why we're likely going to have to make up a name for a model.

Yeah.. you would think the New Republic would have like trademarks and copyrights so other shipyards can't take a certain name for a ship lol or perhaps theres a loophole in their copyright laws that because one is a Republic Class Cruiser and the other is Republic Class Star Destroyer that the claim was invalid.
Yeah, but its still too confusing for my taste. So you won't be seeing a ship called "Republic class Cruiser" in this mod. ;-)
Hope the ship itself appears renamed I rather like this and the ship which was called the Defender before it was removed which was a cruise with a long body just like it.
but wouldnt the KYD step on the the imperial toes? or did the rebels take kaut? (might need to update that npc planet then :P )
In Legends it was originally retaken, and KDY would eventually sell to both the Empire and New Republic. In this mod's lore that doesn't have to happen. :p
Well technically KDY is a private company and with the New Republic becoming an official government they can easily make deals with them.
This is the New Republic Proficient Class cruiser. Had to go back to SOSE Entrenchment to find it
Neither the Proficient or the Republic has any official images, so for ships like this you may see different mods calling the same model different things. They're sort of a free pass for us, as we don't know a lot more besides a name, size and armament for most of them.

I know the Majestic class won't be a frigate but will it be a capital ship or an endgame cruiser?
In my opinion it could serve both roles equally well however I'm leaning more towards capital ship....
The Majestic is definitely a cruiser sized ship and will be called a cruiser. However we actually already teased the Majestic a long time ago, and announced it would the New Republic Long Range "Frigate" type ship.
That's just the role though, it will probably have the highest DPS (and cost) of any non-capitalships, cruisers included.

I.ytimg.com, without hopping in game to make one I found this from a youtube video haha. Its in Sins of a Galactic Empire, they use it as their siege frigate, but it is also a pretty strong as a support ship.
I remember it from SOGE, can't quite remember the name of it though
