Star Wars: Interregnum is an upcoming mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion that builds off of the highly successful Enhanced 4X Mod. Fleeing the unknown terror that is chasing the Vasari, the factions of Sins of a Solar Empire stumble on a temporary wormhole that takes them to a galaxy far, far away. The sudden arrival of armadas with trillions of refugees and thousands of warships between the events of Episodes 5 & 6 forever alters the Star Wars universe and plunges the galaxy into an unprecedented period of chaos and violence. Begun, a new conflict has.
Time to begin the New Republic ship roster with one of my favorite New Class ships, the Majestic Cruiser.
Perhaps the best mid-sized weapon platform produced by any side in the Galactic Civil War, the Majestic was an extremely potent ship armed with a powerful trifecta of Turbolasers, Ion Cannons, and Warhead Launches. The New Republic designed the 700m ship as the most offensively oriented in a series of powerful cruiser sized vessels, capable of obliterating small Imperial frigates and cruisers on its own and providing impressive fire support for capitalships in fleet actions.
The Majestic also boasted some of the most advanced auxiliary systems on any New Republic warship. These include an anti-missile system and the most accurate fire control system in the galaxy, allowing it to rip apart enemies at long range with little risk or at least enable the Majestic to get the first strike on an enemy. However, all these powerful systems and weapons left the Majestic with relatively little power for its engines and shields. As such, wise New Republic commanders should try to make sure these ships are always accompanied by more durable units, who can take the bulk of enemy fire while the Majestic cleans up the mess.

I guess the reasoning is trying to stick more to original canon? Which is totally understandable (it is you guys' mod), it's juts those destroyers are just so darn cool, it's hard not to ask. :P
We got a lot of requests after the Force Awakens came out. :p
Yeah, this mod was already planned before the Disney merger, let alone Episode VII. It is just too ingrained in the expanded universe to try to incorporate the New Star Wars, and I'm not entirely sure if I like it honestly. Plus I'm sure we'll see more of the ship in the next episodes, it may have some more capabilities we won't know about until the trilogy is complete.
That said, we do allow fan addons to the mod. We won't be working on a Resurgent model, but if someone does make one and is cool with it being thrown out there, it might be a fun minimod to have it replace the Allegiance or Bellator model in this mod.
Actually I've been meaning to make something like that for with the Harrower Dreadnaught from SWTOR (replacing the Gladiator, which it took some inspiration from).
OOoohh, Harrowers ARE fun.
But, yes, you're right; most of it is the hype explosion after Ep. VII.
I'm still looking forward to what this mod brings to the table! New ways to improve Sins and make my ****** laptop crash EVEN HARDER!!!

Nope. It is the New Republic's long range frigate after all. Just like the Gladiator or other ships of its class, it doesn't respond well to heavy punishment or focus fire from most units.
Canon wise some of these New Class ships were absurdly powerful (somehow this thing had 5 fighter squads without an obvious hangar bay). So we are sticking to the spirit of these ships more than the canon stats.
