Star Trek: Armada III begins with the first stirrings of the Dominion War and allows players to take command of five unique factions, the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union/Dominion Alliance, and the Borg Collective. Explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.
The Central Command's tactical ethos favours attrition-based warfare, which means in times of war Cardassian fleets must often achieve victory by outlasting their enemies, rather than outgunning them. While the newly refitted Tonga cruiser provides basic field repair and damage control assistance, the Central Command felt that a heavier combat repair ship was necessary.
Another warship based on the ubiquitous Galor cruiser, the Legate-class heavy cruiser is the Cardassian Union's newest support ship. Featuring some of the latest and most useful innovations produced by Cardassian engineers, the Legate takes the support offered by the ageing Tonga-class to a whole new level, delivering battle support and field maintenance to the Cadassian fleet on the very front-lines of the Union's frontier.
Equipped with swarms of automated repair drones that can be deployed to repair several damaged Cardassian ships at once, the Legate drastically improves the already impressive survivability of the Cardassian fleet. The Legate also forms the central hub of the Cardassian battle network, allowing the Cardassian fleet to fight more effectively as a unit.
With the Legate as part of the fleet, the supremacy of the Cardassian Union is assured.
Cardys rule!
I'd like to see that slogan tattooed to Gul Dukat's right butt cheek.
GRANTED!
