There's some weird slice on that continent on the edge. Like the picture has been edited, or maybe the planet? Is that edited just for the picture or is that in the game?

Slice? You mean that stretch of straight coastline beneath the Starfleet HQ station? I didn't notice that until now. Maybe it's the angle.

The only editing that goes into these screenshots is to increase the brightness on the ones that I feel are too dark. This one, however, is unedited.

It actually takes a fair bit of time trying to find a location where I can get a shot of a ship from a nice angle without having icons and such in the background. It pays off though and I'm enjoying being creative. ;)

I can post the texture if you want, but I can assure you, it is not edited. I would know if it were changed...I made it myself. I think it is just the angle, the continent doesn't go straight down, but curves a bit. The sphericity warps it slightly.

Plus, we don't have much of a reason to edit our photos. The Final Frontier really looks like this. :)

Oh, I wasn't insinuating any wrong doings going on, I was just saying it looks odd is all. Probably just the angle and a rendering issue with the Sin's engine. You all do good, keep up the fantastic work :)

I was confused at first too. View original for the big version. The regular viewer blends the rest of the ocean into the purple-y nebulae below it. The rest of the planet is clearly there in the original picture.

Same here. This is he titan that best fits my playstyle for the Fed, but the Polaris is SOO much prettier, that I usually end up building it instead. So fingers crossed that the MK II is more sleek and less... Bulky.

I'll be taking a screenshot of it as soon as it's in-game.

I gotta say this... I never really liked the Excalibur especially her stubby nacelles and whale like appearance being quite a chubby ship and just weird features like along her back.. That being said I can't wait to see what Mk 2 looks like hopefully she is more of a elegant whale than a chubby whale.

I tend to choose the Polaris, I am all about firepower. But I must say. The Excalibur has a certain. nobility in its squatty whaleness

I see there's a lot of fuzz over the Excalibur MK.2.

One question comes to mind:

"Why do the majority of Trek fans hate change and new stuff?"

It's the same reason why TOS fans cried when TNG was being made it's one simple word. Nostalgia.

Only thing here is that the Excalibur Mk 2 is just the Excalibur but with a better model and more up to date textures. Either way I particular don't like the Excalibur I couldn't care less for it. It's a ugly ship even by Federation standards heck I like most kitbashed ships compared to this(Springfield not included that ship drives me mad). The Excalibur stands out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of the ships. The Polaris on the other hand while a fan made ship it looks damn good enough to of been in the movies.

Hah. What do you mean 'even by Federation standards'? Anyway, just looked up other views of it. This is cool and unique looking ship. Only thing I'm not big on is the pylons.

What about an ingame refit option just like the galaxy class has?

Besides that I totally agree with Battlemage1 and ShadowBroker:
She's a whale, nevertheless a noble whale ;-)

In a way that is really a tng era classic aspect. If you look at the galaxy class, nebula class etc. there is definitly this "mothership" feeling with them, which arouses in their design... like watching a big mom-whale :D.
And Enterprise D actually became mother ;-)

So I think excalibur fits more in tng while polaris fits better with later designs, like the sporty Enterprise E.
And because these two primary designes are present in the STA3 Fleet of the federation I also prefer to chose between them when it come to chose a titan, regardless of their abilities.

The best suggestion.

Visual and slight stats refit should be available as option. Just because original design is too, as people here say, noble - to be replaced.

Adding new ship is one thing, but completely overhauling one and saying "it's your old Excalibur!" is another. Especially speaking of titan.

(buried)

Harass everyone who disagrees?

Well, only a person with power to remove any comment at will can do such statements.

So, as I said above - in the comment you've deleted (as you saw fit, of course), I foreseen that nothing will change, so there is no point in even trying.

Well, it's always a bad idea to expect much from people who openly, sarcastically shouts "We Don't Care!" in their videos, when it comes to graphic fidelity of their models.

Best of luck to you, don't let us down with TFF and particullary your new titan.
We all have great expectations here.

I'm not sure that we've ever suggested we don't care. We've been doing this for quite a few years now. No, we don't always take an individual who disagrees views' into account and change our vision based on that but yes, we do care. Yes, we value your opinion, yes what you think matters to us. You're a fan. We do care.

But can we let that affect our vision? No. We'd have the andromeda, the jj-prise and a super star destroyer in the mod at this point if we took every suggestion to heart.

I'm sure that you understand why we would like to replace every model we possibly can with something as unique as possible to STA3. It's our baby. We know that our followers love it, but trust us, We love it more than any of the fans ever could. This is our baby and we hope you can appreciate our viewpoint too.

Description

The Excalibur-class Space Control Ship is the single largest starship ever developed by the United Federation of Planets. Taking an inordinate amount of time, resources and innovation just to design, let alone build, the development of the Excalibur was a difficult and lengthy process fraught with challenges, revolving especially around meeting the Excalibur's overwhelming energy needs, and precisely how to generate a stable warp field around such an immense vessel. Despite the cost, however, Starfleet felt that the end results would be worth the effort, as well as the new ideas and innovations that sprung up during the development process.

Launched in 2373 immediately before the beginning of the Dominion War, the USS Excalibur NX-9000 incorporated many features normally seen only on starbases. Ideally commanded by an admiral, the Excalibur carried the facilities to direct Starfleet operations across a sector, and beyond, without the inherent limitations of an immobile starbase. While initially a great, untested experiment, the onset of the Dominion War pushed the Excalibur immediately into active service, where she proved an exceptional flagship and mobile fleet command centre.

The Excalibur's enormous power needs are met by not one, but two starbase-type reactor cores. A stable warp field is formed by two immense nacelles developed specifically for the Excalibur's unique requirements. When taking part in fleet engagements, the Excalibur plants herself like a tree, striking the enemy with heavy firepower in all directions and protected by almost impenetrable shields. The Excalibur further supports the rest of the fleet with repair drones, extended shields and an advanced battle network system allowing the fleet to work together more cohesively.

The Excalibur prototype has proven herself so effective that Starfleet has approved the production of two sister ships, which will take a somewhat improved, more refined form in the Excalibur Mk.2.
