We could just have said:
"Zombies can now be put down with direct shots to their heart, head or spine."
But where's the fun in that?
So we did this gameplay mashup teaser for you.
In MISERY 1.1 all zombies must be killed with direct headshots.
In MISERY 2.0 you can kill a zombie effectively using your knife, thermite (fire) grenades or direct shots to their heart, head or spine. They don't respond to shots directed at any other part of their body.
But we did more than that. For MISERY 2.0 we tweaked zombie awareness and firearm accuracy letting you sneak up and stab their heart from behind. And there is no more sniper accuracy going on from their side.
Many of them have dropped their weapons and just stare at you. Their weapons and inventories are all reconfigured and diversified. But beware: in large numbers they might surround and choke you like in this teaser.
This looks very VERY good!
Who knew that zombies could be "so" revolutionized?

It looked like at times the player was leaning to the side to peek around the tree. I know that was in the game F.E.A.R.. Was that in vanilla CoP too? If so I highly underutilized it.

It has been in it as it is in many modern FPS. Personally I hate leaning as it is cumbersome to use to fumble around your keyboard for the bound key (and there are already too many bindings) where a simple sideStep-shot-sideStep is easier, faster and even more effective. Unbinding this useless feature is one of my first tasks getting a new game :D

It's a shame nobody seemed to catch on to the Call of Juarez - Bound in Blood leaning system, which is honestly the epitome of how leaning should work. No new binds, just mouse triggers. Perfection.
Its a realy nice sistem, but hate most of the cover (console) sistems now days.

Leaning first appeared in Clear Sky. Sadly there is no use + sidestep leaning as in some other games, i would use it more often.

This Stalker could have easily survived. In the building he was in, on the oppisite side of the wall he was backed into, there is a laddder to the attic. From there he could've easily picked off the zombies as they lack either the motor skills or knowledge to climb ladders, and instead pile up at the bottom. One thermite grenade never did so much damage.
I hate the black around the scopes, I swear I played CoP before without this, where you could see all the landscape around the scope. Can't you add this?
can this version be a little more steam friendly. the mod looks amazing but i just cant get 1.1 to work and nobody will help me.lol

A question though: did you changed again knives damage? Cause in Misery 1.2 as far as I know it does the damage of a .18 bullet (wrong caliber probably lol)...
I'm still mopping up the stains from the front of my underwear after watching this.
Maybe you could keep the "shoot in the head only" feature, but disable guns for zombies completely. I don't know if others would agree with me, but if they don't, is there a way for me to change this with notepad, as we do with stamina values and vendor percentage factor?
Pleased as a pickle I am to see Gosuke's mosin with the scope in COP.
