Very nice than. 1,2 weeks to release - another good information.
And tons of new textures, for environment? I like it. Many thanks.

Lots of new environment textures, yes. Example: Moddb.com
No, not release in 2 weeks. We should be able to set/calculate the release date in 2 weeks though

Keep it up! It's so much better to release a stable version "late" than to rush it and release a bugged out mess "early."

Our main concern is to have a build that allows a full playthrough. Secondary focus is to avoid bugs that require us to patch the game with a forced new game start as that we be unfortunate. Right now things are looking pretty good and we only have the Armory Mod submod left to test in every sense of the word to make sure that things are stable.

Armory Mod is our last HUGE aspect to test. And then we have all the minor details to attend to and polish as much as possible. So a June release is not impossible.

If your PC can't run System Shock 2 then there's no way you'll be able to play STALKER, let alone MISERY

I got WE+WMK+MMM+WOP+DarnifiedUI+ other minor mods, perk packs, NMC textures, Fallout Reanimated, RH Ironsights, Fellout, Pipboy 2500, Powered Power Armor. I like that there are alot more options in WE than Project Nevada, so I made everything really rare and expensive and put the leveling to the hardest, so after 120hours played I'm only level 15 with like 70k XP.

The anticipation is killing me; I can't wait to find me an SKS and craft a budget sniper rifle, 1.1 was unfortunately bugged and I couldn't find a scope to fit. Also, black road and the new hunting system looks really, really appealing.

Reply Good karma Bad karma+2 votes

Astyr - - 127 comments

The SKS was really overpowered sometimes, not only it didn't get a scratch after dozens of shots it could also kill a controller with a single shot to the head, which not even the best sniper rifles could do.

I'm sure it's been properly balanced for 2.0. I didn't know about that, since I rarely used the sks due to the aforementioned lack of scope. If it was never intended to use a scope and doesn't receive the option in the update, I'll just go back to my overall favorite, the super efficient and arguably op'd hunting shotgun.

Unfortunately the SKS was never intended to use a scope, but it can be altered so you can mount one. I liked to use the hunting shotgun in vanilla but there are better options in Misery.

Haha, it all comes down to preference, though its possible I'll change my mind after the new arsenal in 2.0. What exactly do you mean by "it can be altered so you can mount one." If you mean manually changing the game files, I'm far from capable of doing that. I read somewhere that the SKS was built upon the sniper rifle animation/model, which backs up what you said (which is unfortunate.) Either way, there'll be plenty to distract me upon release. :D

I think he means on the actual IRL rifle. The SKS has a fixed iron sight by default, but can be modified with scope rails.

yes, but the rails that replace the rear dust cover in the recoil spring housing is not a accurate place to mount the scope, if there were one on the sks.. even the ones with
"set screws" still shoot loose within 7-10 shots.. IRL its a horrible idea.. but im sure one of the tecs used an artifact or somehting to make it more stable in the mod ;)

well hopefully one of the tecs in the game can mount one on a sks.. in RL there is no way to mount one accurately

It looks as though it probably won't be doable in game, then. Looks like I'll stick with the mosin, when I finally find one, black road option looks like the only option for a true stalker :P

my favorite parts are making easy and hard areas in zation and jupiter to alter the normal game progression and also a working sneak feature, waste processing time for me once i get off the black road :-)

No, they won`t. There are so many icons that they do not have enough space in the resolution 2048x2048. After release you can change position of every icon. I think, people who have old computers are not able to play because of performance issues. Sad, but true...

I only have one comment: YOU CAN'T HEARD CATS!
I have seen the bobcat-like mutants used in some other mods, and they felt stupid and a pain in the ***. They're tough, cool. They're sneaky, alright. They attack in groups, NO! Please change that. Cats do not cooperate in more than a small group, and certainly do not attack in packs. The only group-attack I would condone is a sneak-attack/ambush. If you find 5 or 6 just chilling, they should scatter and come back from different angles to attack.

Actually most animals make groups when faced with scarcity of food, acting as a conjunct to take down the available prey, although they should have different assault routines from our friendly dogs.

I'm even more excited for the mod now then I was before. I particular, I'm looking forward to having reasons to revisit previous sections of the game with better equipment. Before, I would just 'clear' each section of the game, one by one, and would be so powerful that after clearing the first area, I rarely changed armor/weapons. The diversity in weapons/weapon degradation also is exciting. I'm expecting A LOT of scavenging and careful consideration of what to keep and what to toss.

In contrast to everyone else's opinion, I'd prefer dropped guns NOT to have ammo. I think that all NPCs should drop at least 1 to 2 ammo, having no ammo makes no sense. However, putting ammo in the guns is frustrating because it requires unloading every gun you pick up. While some might call this immersion, I think it just makes for tedious busy-work.

TL;DR: Excited for scavenging/revisiting old areas. Please don't put ammo in guns, put it in NPC inventory.

An unload all function would be useful at times like that.

damn you right, i hate this unloading guns. if you are heavy loaded you have to pick up gun, than you cant move, go to inventory and check whether you can unloaded it but mostly you cant because its empty. But you have to run around whole place of firefight because you have to check every single gun if you want some ammo. Hate this. Specially if you find 20 bullets in magazine.
on the one hand you find 6 bullets in 4 dead enemies but on the other hand you find 20 bullets in single weapon
