Weather mod built around enhanced shaders designed to look as natural as possible.
1. First make sure you have a portable instance of mod organizer 2 working, optionally you can also read Starcrys mo2 guide to learn more about it
2. Download the following mods:
Beef's nvgs
Enhanced shaders
Screenspace shaders
Majestic Weatherfx
3. Unpack the following files from the mods you downloaded to mod organizer's mod folder (anomaly\mo2\mods):
-Beef's NVGs
-Beef's NVGs - Patch (Only ES No SSR)
-01 Enhanced Shaders - PBR
-02 Enhanced Color Grading
-Optional - Corrected Cubemaps
-Optional - shader_param controls - simple
-00 - MAIN FILE
-00 - PATCH [ Beefs NVGs ]
-00 - PATCH [ Enhanced Shaders ]
-01 - SSDO
-02 - SSS
-03 - SSR
-04 - SSR Water
-05 - Rain Puddles
-06 - Weapons DOF
-90 - SHADOWS FIXES
-91 - SKY DEBANDING
-00 MWFX - Main
-01 MWFX - Soundscape Overhaul 3 Thunder patch
-02 MWFX - SSS Ambient Occlusion Settings
-03 MWFX - SSS Reflection settings (might crash if sss gets updated)
4. Open mod organizer and assemble the mods at the bottom of your load order like this:
If you're playing EFP v4 or another modpack that uses Soundscape Overhaul make sure to enable the patch I made for it
Some of the modules from SSS will require its custom .exes, I recommend the experimental ones as they fix some shadow related issues and make the game look nicer in general.
Btw don't install the flora fixes from SSS unless you plan to disable pbr.
Also dont use the SSS settings for now as i have yet to update them
5. Unpack the contents of the folder "Reshade files" that comes with my mod to \Anomaly\bin
6. Now open your game, clear the shader cache in the launcher, open your console (should be the tilde key above tab) and type the following command:
cfg_load majestic
7. (OPTIONAL) For my grass settings open your console again and type:
cfg_load grass
8. Restart your game and enjoy
9. (Not recommended) If you don't want to use reshade you can unistall/disable it and apply these console commands instead:
r__saturation 1.5
r__gamma 1.5
r2_tonemap_adaptation 10
r2_tonemap_amount 1
r2_tonemap_lowlum 1
r2_tonemap_middlegray 2
shader_param_4 (1.000000, 1.000000, 1.000000, -0.250000)
r2_smaa ultra
vid_restart
Texture mods - Fine as long as theyre compatible with Enhanced shaders and you load them before majestic
Soundscape Overhaul 3.0 by Solarint - Use the optional patch from majestic or you'll crash on startup
Fixed GGX speculars for ES by Lvutner - Link will only work if you're in the official anomaly discord
Better Rain FX by Detron
Ty everyone who gave me feedback (RamseySparrow, DiscordiaD, Khan, Kirj, EFP discord, etc)
Ty Krepin and Cirno556 for helping me test stuff
Ty LVutner for explaining things
Ty Beef for making the NVG mod
Ty Kennedith for making Enhanced Shaders
Ty Ascii1457 aka Tab for making Screenspace Shaders
2022-06-14: Updated cubemaps for skygod_night
2022-06-21: Updated reshade version, added a better performing grass cfg
2022-07-02: Updated reshade presets
2022-07-10: Updated afternoon hour lighting for clear weathers
2022-07-17: Updated SSS stuff
2022-07-27: Added mipmaps to cubemaps as requested by Lv
2022-08-05: Tweaked cfg, removed deband from presets, updated sun colors for smoother transitions
2022-08-21: Added two new presets both with a flat saturation increase, updated existing presets (reduced brightness and chromatic aberration).
2022-08-27: Updated SSS stuff and reduced gloss_min (this should make rainy days look nicer aswell as make the game look less goofy in general)
2022-09-24: Updated nighttime ambient lighting for better visuals when using nvgs, added back a night sky texture, updated clear weather so it should be a bit more natural looking, removed lv's shadow fix as it caused issues with sss.
2022-12-05: I forgot to keep a complete list of things ive changed but, basically, cloudy, rain, storm and fog weathers got a big makeover, fog for example will only actually be foggy early in the morning and then turn into a slight mist. Some changes to reshade presets, default one should look nice with autumn textures and such now. Tweaks to ambient light to make interiors less dark during some weathers.
2022-12-10: Added Sky black line begone to the main file
(Guns and stuff are from the Escape from Pripyat modpack)

Bro, That Is sick, Definitely gonna try it out <3
looks sooo good thx
looks like tarkov
Playing with it now, this looks nice man great job. Love the grass settings too.
Looks great and the addition of detailed installation information is greatly appreciated. One question: Is it compatible with this? Moddb.com
Thanks.
Probably, I've had that mod installed for a while now and the ai seemed fine
This looks great. Thanks for including my mod in your project!
I get "! cannot open scriptfile majestic.ltx" when trying to execute cfg_load majestic. Whats wrong?
Open Majestic Weatherfx - Main\appdata and move those ltx files to your actual Anomaly\appdata and try again, if that doesnt work just manually paste the commands from ltx files in the console
That did it, thanks.
It's working great though but my fps dropped 40s from 120s, Can I get that shiny weapon effect only? So I can play the game without constant stutters?
Do you have grass shadows enabled? that's pretty much the only setting that really affects fps from what i remember
I'm very busy next few days so I'll checki it next week also I'll change some graphical settings as well.
2 thing that tanks perfomance: high setting for SSAO(like instant -100 fps on 3080) and grass settings to lesser extent. Set SSAO to medium and it should fix most of issues
Please, how to get the weapon reflection effect only ?
Install enhanced shaders + my cubemaps
Solo tengo una palabra para esto: HERMOSO
Lv did it, iirc he said he made everything outside the player's view fully bright
How do you install it? I installed but I still have the damn sun shadow bug...I guess the true fix, is when they release Stalker 2...lol
My man Joe making another reshade that doesn't turn your UI into a flashbang.
Firts of all, tyvm for this wonderful mod. Is pretty well done. Amazing visuals. But for some reason when I activate the patch for SO3, the game does not start. What happen if I do not activate this patch? Loving the weathers & visuals. I use Gamma modpack. Your is at the end of the modpack... Overwriting gamma weathers etc.
The patch is just to prevent crashes since SO3 has its own lightning library, does it crash without the patch too?
Not at all... so far, so good my friend. 4 hours with your mod with no problems without patch for SO3 + weaker AO + Shadow corner addon. Do you use dynamic tonemap extender? If so, can you share your tweaks too? And again. Impressive visuals.
Thanks, I haven't tried dynamic tonemap yet but I'll give it a try sometime
Very impressive, Sidorovich is proud.
Hm, for some reason presets and shader console commands from Enhanced Shaders not working and brightness slider is functioning like in vanilla. Am i doing something incorrectly?
Im not installed optional files from Enhanced Shaders for shader param control since it`s not in guide
You mean cfg_load grading_? I think you need sharam params simple installed for that to work, I didn't include it on the mod list as a lot of people seem to have issues with it.
Yes, i noticed that majestic.ltx contains 2 commands for grading presets but they are not loading and im curios if it`s intentional or i installed something wrong
I included them just incase someone had shader params installed
Thank you for clarification, just want to be sure i installed everything correctly
Also, some skyboxes shows color banding with darker morning weather presets.
Sorry if im sound too critical. Im actively seeking for good weather mod for anomaly and yours is best for now, specifically in night light department.
Either use MrDemonized's upscaled sky textures or enable quint_deband with these settings:
I.imgur.com
I found small issue with in-engine screenshots(like for save file preview) but not fully sure if it`s actually caused by this mod - they dont work with dxgi.dll provided in archive, but it can be fixed with different version of same dll, like from reshade 4.9.1. playing with it for 20+ hours and didnt noticed any visual differences yet but not sure.
Also, is it me or vanilla anomaly nights are just too dark because of "sun" and sky color settings at 0 in most weather presets?
Yea I noticed that too after I updated reshade to 5.2.2, setting the screenshot format to jpg seemed to fix it though.
About the vanilla nights being too dark yea I guess they did it to make the game harder.
Its more unimmersive for me than harder honestly. Im living in the same region as ingame one and nights-to-early mornings are far more brighter in reality. Also, looking at configs i feel like they just forgot to tweak it or laziness just hit them hard.
Thats why i think your weather mod is superior - nights are bright enough and pretty
Anyone know if this has any conflicts with EFP 3.0?
Just install the patch for soundscape overhaul
Just tried it, its actually super pretty. Like, wow. And pretty without also running into issues i have with my own reshades or other graphics setups where blacks or nighttimes will get ruined or its really hard to see. It's like super pretty and playable. Kudos. I imagine i may be sticking with this for a while, i feel foolish now with how long i've spent tweaking my own graphics setup with expedition and my own reshade lol. Thank you nonetheless
edit: Just a note on further playing, i've noticed that at night, in the night sky there can be strange blue dots/patches. It's not super obnxious, but it is a little distracting. I don't know if its just me or if anyone else has had it, thought i'd let you know though :)
I also wish it didnt tank my framerate so much :(
edit-2: So it seems that MOST of the framerate hit actually occurs due to the grass density being so high, i put it down to roughly where i had it before using this mod, and the performance is mostly okay now, its definately worse than without this mod, but its only like 5-10fps hit now instead of being lucky to hit anywhere close to 50FPS before changing the grass density. Hopefully this may help someone else. I left grass shadows on though, cus they look cool :D
Hi there and ty for your mod :) it seems quite complete. I have 2 questions :
1 is there any noticeable performance impact (probably not more than any other weather/reshade mod but who knows), and
2 will the ingame settings for "dark nights", "brighter nights", etc, still have any effect when using your mod ? (I like it when it's pitch black night)
Peace
Hi zoust, for me its a 10 fps difference with the performance grass cfg.
About the darker nights setting, that and the moon phases thing never worked for me even in vanilla so idk
The best weather mod I've ever seen 😍
All up and running almost perfectly just one bug I seem to have the ssr effect from reshade permanently applied to hands and character models only going away whilst under a static light
That's weird because none of my reshade presets have ssr enabled and I also disabled weapon ssr from screenspace shaders, can you send a screenshot of the issue
Fixed the issue. It seemed to be a problem with SSAO having it on anything other than SSDO causes overly shiny character models, is an issue with the screen space shaders mod idk if it's well known or not but that fixed it for me
Thanks for the continued update. The chromatic aberration is barely visible now with the Rally preset, was making my eyes fuzzy on the inventory screen. Best reshade/weather mod out here.
does it work in DXT8?
No way man
Hey it's me again, update 8 dropped for SSS and Majestic most likely needs an update to become compatible with it. I have yet to try it, but a few people I know that are using Majestic can't compile shaders with the newest SSS update. Thanks!
Thanks for letting me know i'll update asap
I have the same problem
Update is out let me know if you get any crashes
Thanks a lot for a very quick patch!
