Items do not appear instantly anymore when you loot bodies.
Small disclaimer:
I based this addon on real life and logic and all comments similar to "so it's like in tarkov"/"make it like in tarkov"/"why don't just take it from tarkov" will be deleted.
Description
Time it takes for item to appear depends on weight, size of item and a bit of random.

If you meet bugs please set local debugx = false to true, reload after it, reproduce bug and send me log here or in discord xcvb#3398, thanks. (I already know about Haruka's skill system spamming console with this addon. Should be harmless, but will fix soon anyway.)
Changelog
- 0.51:
- Eh, better Sorting Plus compatibility xd previous apparently lagged when player had around 1000 items in inventory (tnx demonized for report and RavenAscendant for fix ;p).
- Changed unregister item to entity callback (tnx demonized again).
- 0.5:
- Correct display of items with Sorting Plus (tnx RavenAscendant).
- MCM volume sliders.
- Fixed red console warnings on looting stashes made by player (tnx demonized).
- 0.41:
- Compatibility for magazines, idk why it was crashing, it shouldn't...
- 0.4:
- Looting sounds (background and for each item) with MCM options to disable. Still not perfect, but it's all I could do, also sorry for it taking so much time, no pun intended. (thanks to IENCE for sharing sounds)
- 0.3 (and 0.2 xd):
- MCM with some options.
- Inventory window HUD indicator to show when you still looting the body like in updated thumbnail (with optional weird animated texture).
Opinions on looting sound?
I can't find a good one, so I'm playing 12 sounds that IENCE found on his PC in a random order. Sounds itselves are great, but I still not sure it's "that" good and worth adding ;[
it's better than nothing really
it's good but needs more bass, like patting cloth etc
I can't do sounds ;[ Only take different short sounds and play them randomly.
Only issue is that it seems to play when other stalkers loot. Also it still plays if you have the mod that makes stalker go crazy whe you try to loot what they've killed (aggressive stalker looting or something) so I disabled the sounds altogether. Doesn't affect the greatness of this mod. 10/10
I can hear it sometimes even when I'm not looting 👀
who tf instantly gives a rating of 1? if it's ripped content with no proper credit or broken *** stuff i get a bad review, but if you guys simply don't like what you see, don't download.
definitely giving this a try! thanks for uploading
I learned that some people here think:
"If I don't need this addon, then it's useless for everyone".
Currently it shows me that 3 people have downloaded and 13 votes have been submitted. Nice statistics.
Just like voting, but without the extra steps.
indeed some people in moddb can really be a bunch of twitter users
There are people who do not vote taking into account the original purpose such as the functional state of the addon, but who vote only taking into account their vain "I like it or I do not like it"
ive uploaded 3 simple addons for anomaly releases. each one got at least one 5 or lower the first hour. someone trolls or something. the uploads were EXACTLY what i described. even if they were low quality, i would state that in the description. bunch of gamer troll dickheads. if you give a lot of low votes, your account should be investigated or banned or something. ive almost taken down uploads here and other sites because of these ********.
this reminds me of a LOT of posts i see in gaming forums. steam, reddit, gamefaq... the first hour or so of the post is asshols telling the person they are dumb for asking whatever question and not doing things the way THEY do them. then a few hours later, the real replies start rolling in. some of them even say, "dont listen to those idiots that chime in right away". let the post sit for a while.
also reminds me of ratings on amazon, people give the product a 1 vote because the shipping was bad. my god the anonymity of the internet brings out the *** in people.
Using it right now with EFP and it works great. Im just hoping there's and indicator at least to know if a body is fully searched
Oh good idea, think I can do that ;]
Yes please!
Perhaps, as with tarkov, you see the icons "silhouetted" before they are revealed. Then once the final silhouette is revealed you know you've seen all the loot. Sorting Plus has a function for silhouetting new loot in inventory, etc., so that could be a place to start.
Neat +1, instead of a silhouette or a placeholder would it be possible to make some kind of loading icon? Like the circle one in tarkov when you reload your mags.
When the icon is gone the player knows the body is fully searched. Maybe as a timed replacer for the mouse icon.
I think thats the easiest to do and most effective way to show.
Not adding psionic abilities (also hard to code), just a loading indicator that vanish after all the loot has appeared.
"just a loading indicator that vanish after all the loot has appeared."
Sounds perfect to me ;) - if you are able to add that it's clearly a flawless 10/10 "must have mod"
Good job man!
Superb. I have been thinking Stalker needed something like this for years 👍
Reminds me about Prosectors Project 1.6 . . .
Although this is implemented in another way. I can't see myself using this for obvious reasons (not like loading inventories wasn't slow enough on my CPU based of a 10-years old architechture) but definitely can see this being used by wiser people on their modpacks.
I don't know if it's implemented (too lazy to download and test) but I think it would be nice if the code had memory of searched bodies/stuff and loaded their inventories instantly on second search. Well you know that the guy has a lighter in his right pocket if you already searched it.
it works alewady this way, was one of my concerns too. also your stashes are up instantly
As the previous comment already said, it's already like this till next game reload. Would be nice to get suggestions after testing ;p
another addon that remind me of tarkov. see all tarkov system in stalker is one of my biggest dreams
ironically enough, i thought about how cool it would be to have this feature in stalker
can't wait to give it a try!
Interesting idea, thanks for contributing.
I have two suggestions:
1. Mcm with some simple time scaling options would be neat here.
2. Extra feature, though not sure this is technically possible:
- sometimes a 'hidden' valuable contraband piece of loot does not appear automatically at all, and only gets revealed once you successfully pinpoint it by hovering over the inventory space with your mouse, being placed somewhere at random.
To not make it too tedious, only high level stalkers would use such techniques, so you don't go about like this with just everyone.
1) I'll add MCM with the HUD indicators update.
2) I like the idea of very valuable items being more hidden, but not sure if I have enough experience for something like this (I'm not even sure it's possible to do with hovering cursor).
What a great idea this addon is!
About 2) Regardless of if it works with hovering, how about doing this in a more simple manner, for example by creating an array of certain item cathegories (only the more valuable ones) where the timer runs a bit longer?
I honestly don't really want to go through all in game items and check which ones I consider valuable ;[
You have no say in this. We TELL YOU to do it, capiche? ;)
On a serious note, love and use quite a few of your mods, thanks for your work bratan.
me go make it then ;[
Not all items, but only cathegories. Like artefacts, tools, etc. e.g. consider big guns more valuable than pistols. Nothing too fancy :)
Is it possible to scan a container (inventory) and replace every item that has been found with a temporary placeholder item? For example create a simple item that has a question mark icon assigned and a use-action. Place one of them for every item in the container, and when using it, it will be replaced with the real item. If that works though, is there a way to circumvent stacking of same items without creating a buttload of them? But then it would be similar to the eft mechanics.
Btw, when pressing a cathegory number key all items will be shown for half a second.
Last part I probably won't be able to fix, as for placeholders - I don't want player to know exact amount of items (I will only add a small indicator for when all items are shown).
Well, due to Anomaly's handling of container items you can always get a preview of items by pressing a cathegory hotkey. For example pressing "1" for one or two times gives a pretty good glimpse of item amount as well as item types. So this actually makes indicators or placeholders a bit less usable - except if maybe all items get replaced by placeholders very quick, then pressing hotkey would only allow to guess the amount but not type of items.
I'm removing them as fast as I can already. Don't think it's possible to do even faster, coz I need to skip 1 single update to save items NPC initially had. Don't think it's even triggered again when you change categories, so changing categories should be in vanilla's flow, if that is true, then it's as fast as possible and there is nothing I can do about it ;[
Then again, I'm not a good coder, so not sure if what I said is correct xd
I'm not a good coder as well (at least not with Lua), so I can't tell. One thing I noticed is that you can spam hotkey to see items more often. They appear on every key press, but very short. It's enough to get a good glimpse though.
Alright, I think I know how to fix it, but only in the most dumbest way possible ;]
Upd: didn't work xd
Btw, I'm using Sorting Plus. Maybe that one is interfering too?
Nice update! I like the indicator :)
Nope, same on vanilla, just don't spam the button is all I can suggest. As far as I can tell this is how inventory updates work and I can't do anything about it.
From my humble point of view, I think it would be fairer if the delay occurs when you transfer an item to your backpack.
Good idea, but for another addon ;p This one is only about ransacking and it's too early to expand.
Haha, it is understandable... 👍
But hey, I was also referring to the ransacking.
like in Project Zomboid, it would be great, it would make the looter role more "realistic".
For now, you can grab 20 items including cumbersome and heavy suits instantly, with the delay you have to prioritize certain things when you're in the middle of a firefight
dont loot in a middle of a firefight fool
The greed, friend, the irresistible greed XD
This! 50% of my death are related to greed :( XD
Haha I was just thinking about the looting mechanics in State of Decay these days, good contribution comrad
That's pretty cool! Any way to get a little animation or something like Tarkov that shows you're looting an item?
Animation? Inventory covers the whole screen, you won't see it.
Or if you mean initial animation, it's better to ask Feel_Fried ;]
I think he means an animation while in the inventory menu, like a symbol to show that you're still looting/when you're finished looting.
