Changes the Status (Buff & Debuff) icons. Don't like the appearance of the new icons that version 1.5.2 gives? Want something subtle but also informative and "pretty"? Take a gander at this!
___________
DESCRIPTION
___________
Alternative Icons changes the status and buff icons to a different shape, color, structure, etc...
Depending which you choose, it may be colored and somewhat subtle but still informative.
Or it can be even simpler while still offering the necessary information.
- "Status" icons are gray with a transparent colored circle behind them.
They also have a background that changes color depending on the severity, it can be seen from the top and bottom bars.
* "Version Two" icons are white with a strong shadow margin.
It uses a firm background with high contrast to indicate severity.
- "Buffs" are colored and slightly smaller with a more subtle background.
The background has some "cyan" at the bottom to indicate it is positive.
* "Version Two" buffs are white with a subtle shadow.
Some have outer-lines to indicate it is boosting something.
Those without lines are "Reverse Boosting", in other words they REDUCE bleeding and radiation.
They have a much more subtle background that is barely seen.
- "Boosters" are the same as Buffs, but also have a shield.
All shields are transparent.
* "Version Two" boosters have an opaque and firm shield.
- Includes compatibility with "HUD Timers" for both versions, install it last.
___________
INSTALLATION
___________
NOTE: The mod was made with MO2 format in mind for ease of install, give that a try.
For manual install, it should be simple; just pick one of the versions and extract the "gamedata" to your Anomaly directory.
___________
COMPATIBILITY
___________
It uses an independent script, so it should virtually be compatible with everything.
It is compatible with many other HUDs. (Highly recommended to use with SidHUD, VoDis or Old Dog HUD)

Looks like minecraft icons not gonna lie :D
Update 1, just a minor update to make it compatible with 1.5.1
Wow, looks cool!

Update 2, I have added a new iconpack that has a much more subtle and minimal "Black & White" feel to it. Give it a try.
Also the header is an animated GIF now that shows all the current icons.
Update 3, I have improved the Radiation Restore and Shield Icons for the first version.
Also, it is now compatible with SidHUD and VoDis.
Neither of the HUDs have their own icons anymore, should ease installment a bit by having less bloaty options (especially for VoDis).
Can you remove the PDA popup icon when your PDA updates with new info? It's very annoying.
Yes, but my mod does not do that.
Best you can find is this Moddb.com
To completely remove it, you'll have to ask elsewhere.
very nice artwork.
small gripe: the flashing pda icon is just a dark blue square texture for me. i'm guessing there is some texture missing or not correctly referenced? or could the SIDHud be responsible maybe?
also: can i disable the add-on on a game in progress? removing all related files makes all status icons show the same blue square texture like described above.
That's missing texture indeed, but none of my mods deal with the PDA Icon, so it can't be it.
As for the icons being "notex" when you remove the mod, you're probably forgetting to completely uninstall it, including the script, which changes the location of the textures.
You also have to restart the game.
i actually did remove the 3 scriptfiles and all of the new icon files. restarting the game (engine) doesn't fix it, neither does starting a completely new game.
bit stumped here, ui mods are usually easy to install and uninstall from my experience.
any other advice you can offer?
Try resetting your shader cache, I doubt that will work but "magic" happens sometimes apparently.
If not, try deleting (backing them up before too, of course) all your mod folders.
If not, do a complete reinstall of 1.5.1
clearing the shader cache seemed to do the trick. as for the missing PDA icon i think that is caused by bart's stealth bar add-on. it also was responsible for missing HP bars on the companion HUD.
I love these icons but for some reason they display too far down on my screen so the bottom halves are cut off. Are there any fixes for this?
Interesting, that should happen, but you should answer these questions:
- What is your game/monitor resolution?
- Are you using SidHUD, VoDis or the default HUD?
My resolution is 1360x768 and I am using SidHUD
Right, problem is both your resolution and SidHUD, but don't worry, a fix can be made.
1. Go to "scripts" folder and find ui_sidhud_mcm (if it doesn't end with _mcm you have an old version, please update it)
2. Open it up, preferably with Notepad++
3. Find "status_hud_y = 12", change the "12" to 0
That should fix it, if not, try -12 instead of 0.
That worked! Thank you for your help
Thak you, looks awesome now
Update 4. IMPORTANT UPDATE.
I have made it so "Alternative Icons" no longer uses actor_status.script, it is now an independent script.
This increases compatibility to infinity.
NOTE: If you are updating this mod, make sure you remove "actor_status.script" and the other two named the same but ending in _thirst and _sleep. If not, expect crashes.
This looks so nice, dude! Thanks
is this the one that changed the load screen text to stalker amomawy? not mad just confused
No, that is caused by Anomaly itself, some sneaky dev decided to add a lil' code that changes names during April Fools.
i forgot abt april fools lmfao nice looking icons

What could be the problem?
Do you, by any chance, have an "actor_status" in your scripts?
If so, remove it, it might be the old one from AltIcons and it's causing conflicts.
In scripts I don't have this file.
If you are using VoDis and its addon "Centered Icons", delete "az_vodis_centericons" in gamedata/scripts, that was the culprit.
If not, don't think I can help you without more info, sorry.
I am using SidHUD, so deleting the file you specified is not an option either😐
Forgot to log in, so do not be surprised by the comment from the Guest (purely for reference)
I use SidHUD and AltIcons myself and never encountered this issue.
Give me a PM, send me a screenshot or even a folder of your mods.
The screenshot only needs "scripts".
Update 5
If you are crashing because of "actor_status", update immediately.
The newscript should fix those crashes.
Are there any plans to replace the icons that appear on the left side of the screen (the same radiation source indicator)?
No plans for such, perhaps in the future though.
Thank you for fixing the actor_status crashes! Wasn't crashing for me unless I was using T.H.A.P., but now I can use both. Great mod!
hello sir, would dragging this gamedata into the Anomaly folder require me to delete my original or say another mods gamedata I have installed?
You can simply drag & drop, the system will check if there's anything to replace or not.
Thanks for the icons :)! is it possible to change the size ingame for the icons?
There might be, for an upcoming update.
Update 6
- You can now configure the size, just go to gamedata/scripts and open up alticons.script, with Notepad or Notepad++, and change "size_adjust" to whichever you'd like.
- New code has been implemented to keep aspect ratio proper, on any resolution (4:3 and 21:9, rejoice)
Pero si lo acabo de instalar ayer!!! :c de todas formas muchas gracias :3 excelente complemento excelente trabajo!
Hi! I tweaked the B&W Hunger icon a bit so it doesn't look cut off. My tweak definitely could be better, so I'm giving it to you if you wanna tweak my tweak of your mod. :D Thanks for this mod, as well!
Drive.google.com
Nice, thanks.
The knife has that dull edge to indicate a rookie's knife though, it was an artistic choice but, I honestly don't think it works.
I'll try to convince Blackgrowl to use yours or change the knife a bit.
Now that you mention it, it does look cool but I appreciate you considering my tweak! Have a great day!
I've been waiting for a mod like this since I was playing Anomaly on Linux in my on my previous PC :-)
This matches other custom HUDs based on SidHUD very well, i like it!
Great and nice mod.
Is there a chance there will be an icon for bleeding? The severity of the bleeding is not always clear from the splash at the edge of the screen.
I believe it is, how to say it, both possible and impossible.
Impossible because it means I have to modify one MAJOR file to make it work, so it will be incompatible with HUDs, including my own.
But it is also possible if I make it script-based, although I am not sure if that is possible, I will ask Raven about it.
Hi! Lovely mod, but it's overlapping BHS hud. Can i edit the script to put the icons on the right side of the screen? Any tips?
I'm very sure BHS has its own patch for this.
