In the Year 2199, Earth was attacked by the Gamilas Empire, Earth was nearly defeated if not for the valiant efforts of the Space Battleship Yamato and her crew. The Yamato and crew would then face many foes over the next five years, nearly facing destruction at every turn. You play as the Commanding General of the United Nations Cosmo Navy during what became known as The Five Years of Fire. In this total conversion mod, you will be able to chose playing as the EDF, Galman Empire, Gatlantis Comet Empire, Bolar Federation, or The Dark Nebulan Empire as you battle across space. Will you take command of the mighty Yamato and protect the Earth or work to bring about the absolute domination of the Galaxy?

I'm eagerly awaiting the release of the mode whether it's for sin 1 or 2 as long as it comes out

So we've actually decided to halt development of the Sins 1 mod and are waiting on Sins 2 to release fully AND it's mod tools! Keep an eye on this space for updates or our Discord!

Apologies for a lack of updates here on ModDB. With the announcement of Sins 2 we've gone on a temporary hiatus whilst we wait to see what systems and tools will be used to Mod that game. We intend to release a "Demo" using Sins 1 which will feature the UNCF and Gamilas factions. Then a more fleshed out and complete mod for Sins 2 once those tools are out!

The Sins 1 Version of the mod will have 2 fully fleshed out factions to play with. We are an INSANELY small team therefore we cannot make 2 mods simultaneously and frankly, Sins 2 will be easier to mod AND has features we desperately wanted but could not access due to the limitations of the first game.

So then why make a mod for Sins 1 in the first place

A handful of reasons but the most important being, the vast majority of Sins players still only play Sins 1 as Sins 2 is still in an Early Access state. The more we work on Sins 1, the more experience we gain with modding and working with the tools we will need going forward. Lastly, we began this mod a few years ago and want to at least follow through with two proper factions and fulfil part of a promise we made.

I think the promise should to be finish the entire mod before switching to the sequel because as you said, a vast majority of players still play Sins 1. I understand limitations but is it hard to overcome them?

Certain limitations are hard coded into Sins that we simply cannot overcome. Sins 2 however, will have many of them removed. Hence why we're excited to work on Sins 2 but want to give a taste of what we have in store with Sins 1.
