"My name is Brian Arquette and I'm a freelancer actor. You know, I used to belive in destiny. I had a job with reasonable pay, new car and, what's best, a loving wife pregnant at 8'th month. It was the day before christmas evening. We just left visiting my parents at Brahms countryside when my life was turned upside down. It just wasn't fair.. I woke up, my face covered in blood but still living. The car was surrounded by police and ambulance sirens. Sharon wasn't sitting next to me, but judging by the mess I knew what was coming. Shortly after I got out of the car, I heard the news.
She was dead.
I insisted that they would take me to hospital. After we arrived, there wasn't only bad news awaiting me. Even though Sharon was killed instantly, the baby survived without any harm. She was the only thing that drove me forward now. Yet again, I couldn't do anything but watch her laying in a small sterile chamber, wires and tubes attached all around her fragile body. Only two days after mourning and drinking, I got good news for instance. My.. Our baby was fine and I could take her home now. Without hesitating a moment, I took her home and took the responsibility of raising her alone.
After ten years of happy life, some turns in my and her life drove us inside a twisted vessel of madness. It was the day before christmas evening. We just left visiting my parents ..."
Silent Hill - The Stage offers a dark, twisted and interesting adventure with different gameplay mechanics than any other SH game has offered. Whole game is played in FPS style for more 'in-your-face' -style horror. Horror is still not the only thing this game is based on. You are driven inside a machine of emotions, fear, disturbing images, confusion and even love. Still while giving out the classic third person style with inventory screen, slow gameplay and map system, The Stage tries to keep it's style and feeling as loyal towards the original SH games as possible.
We hope you enjoy our media so far and keep watching this project. This WILL be quite a ride from the beginning to the very end.
At last I decided to took my time and write something that's been going on lately. Well, there's nothing much to say, other than that The Stage is now on hold. About 3 months ago (or so) I lost my will to continue on this project. I tought it was too much work for so small team to create such huge game with alot of content. Then before I talked to anyone about this, our coder decided to put up a ridiculous excuse to stop working with us. Not that he even made anything, but he wussed out right after joining us. Next, I started working on smaller personal projects such as Bloodfeast for GZDoom (more info later). Alot of ideas and small projects really made me forgot all about The Stage. Next, Nomrah got quite busy with his school and I undestood his situation, so we decided to put the whole project on hold.
Right now I really started to think about this project and look for better, easier engines. Maybe even take the project out of Silent Hill universe and make a setting of my own (still keeping the deep, psychological and dark style).
I really can't say much else. I'm bad at writing stuff like this.
So, if there's any coders or such interested in helping (no, we don't need mappers, modellers, graphic artists, story writers or Resident Evil fanboys), please PM me or comment on this post. Engine suggestions are highly recommended too! If you are telling us to make it on Source engine, be ready to help on coding part, because Source isn't the easiest engine because of it's C++ language.
