"Withstand me if you can; I have already come to you, and I am plundering your lands." (Life of Alexander Nevsky)

Anno Domini 1237.
Europe and Asia are plunged into the abyss of bloody war. Christians wage war with Muslims and heathens. Catholics battle with orthodoxies. Orthodoxies kill each other.
Brother against brother, and son against father.
From the West, Teutonic Knights have come crusading against heathen and orthodox Slavs, to turn them into the Latin faith. Knight-brothers have already consolidated in Baltic and now look further to the East, where, boundless and rich, Rus lies.
Poland, torn apart with inner contradictions, tries to deter the approaching Order Komturias, already settled firmly on the right bank of Vistula.
But upon all European nations hovers another, imminent threat. From the Far East comes Batu-Khan - the ambitious grandson of the great conqueror of nations, Genghis Khan. Furious hordes sweep across the Great Steppe and the land of Rus, aiming for the West, aiming for the Last Sea, laying one nations under tribute and mercilessly exterminating others. They are determined to fulfil the holy will of the Khan, and it seems that there is no force in the world that can stop them.

The historic mod "Rus 13th Century: Way of the Warrior" reconstructs the events of this dramatic and heroic age. You can unite the forces of Ruthenian princedoms and give battle to the Horde, or gather the Novgorod militia and warmly greet the Order knights on the ice and snow of the northern lands. You can feel yourself a warrior of the Horde, a vassal of the Teutonic Landmeister, or become a proud shlachta and fight for the glory of Kingdom of Poland.

"And the glory of his name spread throughout all lands, from the Sea of Khupozh to the Mountains of Arabia and to the far shore of the Varangian Sea and to Great Rome." (Life of Alexander Nevsky)

I play as a Teutonic knight and conquer Gdansk (orginally belongs to Poland), and I want to recuit Teutonic soldiers. Can I convert the soldierd of the city from Polish to Teutonic?

By the way, how can I upgrade Pan to Mozhnovladec (Polish elite troop)? I cant find the upgrade button in upgrade troop menu while in a Polish town.

No, you can't. But you will be able to recruit teutonic soldiers from polish castles, if you will conquer polish castle.

You need to talk with ruler of Poland in order to upgrade Pan to Mozhnovladec.

They could add the banners that carried the infantry and the cavalry historically would be very good, the mod is very good.

One question.
How the hell do you recruit ANY troops?
I've picked an adventurer start, and the only people I can recruit are either tavern mercenaries, or ravine bandits, both extremly expensive for someone with just a small sack of starting money.
And it's not like I earn more of it without army.
Villages have no option for recruitment, even the ones with a relation higher than 0.

Q: What relationship with the fief is required for hiring units in it?
A: +5 with village for levy units, +10 with town and +5 with town owner for town units, +15 with castle owner for low-elite units. High-elite troops can only be hired in Player’s own castle.

I have a problem (2.5 with hotfix 2, Linux). All fonts and 2D graphics look strange and warped. I have the same problem with AD1257. Do you know any possible solutions?

Delete font_data.xml from Data folder which is in mod folder, and font.dds from Textures folder which is in mod folder.

so played a bit and noticed Lithuanian dukes are named Kunigas, But they should be callled Kunigaikštis and Mindaugas should be called Didysis Kunigaikštis, the siege ai could be improved too, other than that its a very solid mod

Ok. Thanks. I will fix that.
Mindaugas is not Didysis (Grand) because Lithuania was not Grand Duchy in mod's time.

If you want to express his importance you could name him Vyresnysis Kunigaikštis, but just Kunigaikštis is allright too

Really damn good. It's like if 1257AD focused on a single region, and it's bloody great. There is so much detail in everything, from the locations to the mechanics to the weapons and armour. I love the little tidbits of historical info that come with some of the equipment, and just how huge the world feels. There is much troop diversity, hell, you can hire English knights and Byzantine cataphracts :D . Only real issues are a few glitches here and there and the somewhat iffy English translation…
