Arcane Dimensions is a large, large, (large) expansion/complete conversion for the original Quake 1, by Simon O'callaghan and many others. This is a build of Arcane Dimensions using HD textures, sound fx, and with my own ~3 hour soundtrack. I've been working on the music for about 2 years, and the game for about 6 months.
And now it's done:
And here's a trailer for good measure:
I'm glad I took the extra time to ensure this was ready - there were a few things that were sticking out, and one or two slipups that weren't caught until the final week.
You'll notice on some levels there's still a few low-res textures here-and-there - there's nothing much I can do about that, at this point.
But luckily they are the anomaly rather than default.
I'd like to say there's been ups and downs, as per the usual spiel for this sort of thing, but really it's just been steady work over the past two years (musically) and six months (gaming-wise).
Now there's a bit of burnout. Of course there is. Welcome to the holidays.
Looks great.
The first time I've played Quake was the shareware episode in the nineties and it's mind-boggling to see people doing things like this in (almost) 2020.
Thanks a lot.
You're welcome.
This is magnificent. I have a few Arcane Dimensions packs i've made but this one runs better and looks slightly better. Thank you for doing this! I love AD!
Thanks, cant wait to play this !!!!
shame that not all the maps works with this
Only sepulcher doesn't, and it doesn't work with darkplaces in general.
dose this work with quake 1.5?
No, sorry
Most likely it will work with Quake 1.5 weapons pack, even
though it is far not the same quality, compared to what is
in the Q1.5 mod itself. Still, it's way better than nothing.
Yeah, it's mainly the progs.dat (bulk of 1.5) which will get overwritten by AD's code.
