Install:

  1. Backup your patch.dat, patch.fat, and Dunia.dll files.
  2. Extract the files from this mod into their place - patch.dat and patch.fat into Far Cry 2 > Data_Win32, and Dunia.dll into Far Cry 2 > bin
  3. Start a new game

Optional but recommended:

  1. Run the included "ExtraContent.reg" to add extra machetes and missions to your game
  2. Follow the PCGW instructions to disable Depth of Field
  3. Add -GameProfile_SkipIntroMovies 1 to your launch options

  • There are two version of this mod. The Steam and GOG versions are NOT fully cross compatible.

For the sake of having clear, defined goals for a mod, I have removed the "special" version of Hunter's Far Cry 2 Update. This "vision" of the game is now known as Far Cry 2: Redux.

It features all bug fixes from the Update, plus many more specific gameplay changes. The biggest of which is the new custom Map/GPS system.

Hey there. There seem to be alot of similarities between this mod and the Far Cry 2 Redux mod, are there much differences at all? Also I own the game on Uplay, which version file should I download?

BTW, just discovered a bug - when you die while mounting a vehicle turret, the game is ******, you stay mounted on the turret, and you see your AI companion arrive and he fights any NPCs in the area, but you are stuck, you can't move you can't exit the seat you can't do nothin.

Have you tested this scenario more than once? If not, please see if you can recreate this bug.

I didn't edit anything that should affect this, but I also don't remember it happening to me during play.

I'll do some testing as well...

It seems to have so far only happened once! I have recently just died while mounting a turret, and it worked properly this time. I have a machete, a flare gun, a double barrel shotgun, a 20 mag automatic rifle, and a IED or EID or whatever the homemade bomb thing is, plus Molotovs and grenades, I have the upgrade to carry more explosives as well.

Glad it's not a repeating bug. I'm willing to bet this is an error with the engine and not the mod, but I'm not positive.

Hey bud is there any chance you can improve stealth gameplay? In your mod the enemy NPC awareness level is high. I swear to god, I kept re doing this one guard post scene, constantly re loading it, and I was getting frustrated thinking how the hell can they be seeing me I've been crouched behind cover the whole time every time.

At one point the NPCs fucken saw me thru a wall, no joke, probably were doing so in other playthrus as well. I'm crouched, there's a slight chip in the wall at the tip of it, and they spot me, I hear them say THERE! GOT EM! I uncrouch, shoot thru the opening the chipped off part provided, and kill the NPCs, then go over to exactly where they were standing, and I looked to the wall section with a chip in it (at the top) and there's no way in hell those NPCs could have seen me while I was crouched at that position.

Moddb.com I was playing his mod before yours. His seemed the best out of all of them, slightly better in certain areas than Dylan's -he had AWESOME stealth gameplay, you could machete the **** out of people and they wouldn't spot you using wallhack ever, they needed direct line of sight.

But yo dude, your mod is gonna be the new KING! It's really cool, your map system makes sense, I like the concept, and I'm sorry I don't know how to stop the flashing safe house icons, which does defeat the whole purpose of your map changes. Although not really, I still like using the GPS. In normal Far Cry 2 you only looked to the GPS for the flashing green light lol, now you actually have to use it's screen.

Have you remembered to cap your framerate?
The AI is tied to the framerate, so having your framerate go to say 200-300 will have the enemies spot you through hills.

The one near the front entrance to the private property area with the walls, the alternate buddy mission where you intimidate the informant to send out different radio coordinates.

It's possible that those enemies are considered "special ops" by the game, and have improved stats. I'll check it out, and also see how the stealth aspects between this mod and the real mode mod differ.

"special ops" now that's cool, so there are different levels of AI soldiers. Maybe just take a way their wall hack vision lol, but yah leave still badass.
