You are Kovac, a senior agent in the covert Special Black Operations unit. You're deployed to Black Mesa to halt the next phase of the science team's plan after HECU forces are unsuccessful in stopping Freeman from launching the Omega Satellite delivery rocket... ...but you fail, the procedure ends up creating massive portal storms in the sky sending you and your team through a void to oblivion and back. You wake up almost twenty four hours later; the military has withdrawn, and everyone and everything besides your fellow Black Operators are now a target. To make matters worse, another hostile and more powerful alien faction has appeared in the chaos, further complicating the situation. The incident can no longer be contained, you must link up with other Black Ops units and prepare to wipe the facility from the map once and for all...
As the Black Ops finally breach the Lambda Complex's main laboratory areas, they find themselves caught in the crossfire between Xen and Race X forces battling for supremacy. The reactor is out of control, Portal storms are escalating, spawning all manner of fauna, flora and lowly creatures from the borderworld.
In order for Kovac to reach his next major objective, he must reach the Lambda Sector Transport network via the top level of the Core, which naturally means wading straight into all the chaos that is unfolding...

Looks nice

Is nice
It looks very well made.
I'd eventually attach some monitor textures or other control panels onto the wall brushes to mix things up a little.
Once in a while perhaps an alert light illuminating the hallway, who knows.
To the edge near the ladder some stripes either yellow/black or red/white as warning and indicator towards the edge. Perhaps even a small steel fence to prevent people falling down there.
Idea: Lower the ceiling next to that opening with the ladder. Attach a separate ceiling texture more in line with the wall texture there. That allows you this for example:

So in essence the grey top segment of the yellow white wall texture could continue on seamlessly.
On the ceiling possibly once in a while an air vent leading either to the surface or a vast network of vents for air circulation.
Hallway.
My God... He's right!
Cool.

Only now I have noticed where the title of this chapter comes from, Thomas S. Kuhn is one of my main influences in philosophy of science
