Dark Matter is the unofficial final chapter in the Half-Life saga. Step into the boots of Kovac, an agent of the Special Black Operations unit tasked with containing the situation after the failed experiment at the Black Mesa Research Facility. When Gordon succeeds in launching the Omega satellite delivery rocket, the government becomes concerned that the HECU failed to stop the launch, and that Freeman is a major threat to the military machine and the cleanup operation itself. Your unit is deployed in order to observe the military forces and assist when necessary. On route to the insertion point, your unit's helicopter is caught in a portal storm and ends up crashing somewhere in the facility. You awaken several hours later, new orders have come in, the research facility has passed the point of no return. All units are to assist in delivery of the package, the final hours of the Resonance Cascade have begun...

This is a brand new area of an existing location obviously, but all new areas will be showcased in time, I'm still fleshing them out and figuring out what goes where, what happens and what they'll look like. There are also new parts of other exisiting locations as well...

Good spot, I definitely took influence from that design, since it was supposed to be part of the (non-canon) Lambda Complex ;)

Description

The control station for Core Level A is located just beyond the other side of the collapsed corridor when Gordon climbs up the ladder to said level in Half-Life. In Dark Matter, Kovac enters Level A via a different entry point, allowing him access to areas Gordon couldn't get to. The control station acts as the primary mechanism for the main teleportation reactor, and monitors various functions in the Core such as temperature, coolant level, radiation amount etc.

Following the launch of the Omega satellite delivery rocket, and the resonance reversal, the primary satellite array was activated allowing the Lambda team to open up a portal to Xen. The satellite Globe from "On A Rail" can be seen here in online mode, with the satellite itself orbiting the Earth. On the top level, a door leads to a small area with a ladder that takes Kovac to the Reactor control platform, where the scientist first worked the controls for Gordon, before being transported to the border world...
