You are Kovac, a senior agent in the covert Special Black Operations unit. You're deployed to Black Mesa to halt the next phase of the science team's plan after HECU forces are unsuccessful in stopping Freeman from launching the Omega Satellite delivery rocket... ...but you fail, the procedure ends up creating massive portal storms in the sky sending you and your team through a void to oblivion and back. You wake up almost twenty four hours later; the military has withdrawn, and everyone and everything besides your fellow Black Operators are now a target. To make matters worse, another hostile and more powerful alien faction has appeared in the chaos, further complicating the situation. As I've previously said in reply to some comments about the model style I'm going for, Dark Matter will use HD pack models, and some PS2 ones for objects that aren't included in higher definition. I am certainly not just using them all as they are however, whilst some models don't need any changes, there are those that certainly do, and this one is a perfect example.
I love the HD model of the alien grunt but I HATE the texture... it doesn't look nearly as detailed as Valve's original, and the face somehow manages to somehow look almost friendly... I can't have Nihilanth's chief warrior looking like he'd give you a hug, and thus here we have a full reskin!
By using neural upscaling, I have enhanced the size of Valve's original low-res textures, and carefully reskinned the HD model. Now the alien grunt looks as formidable as he once did, all in glorious HD quality! Bonus reskins to the hornetgun models too, in keeping with the original style as best as possible.
There will be changes to other HD models like this, so watch this space. ..
PS: HD shotgun sounds? Hell no, who on Earth decided that was a good idea?!
