Dark Matter is the unofficial final chapter in the Half-Life saga. Step into the boots of Kovac, an agent of the Special Black Operations unit tasked with containing the situation after the failed experiment at the Black Mesa Research Facility. When Gordon succeeds in launching the Omega satellite delivery rocket, the government becomes concerned that the HECU failed to stop the launch, and that Freeman is a major threat to the military machine and the cleanup operation itself. Your unit is deployed in order to observe the military forces and assist when necessary. On route to the insertion point, your unit's helicopter is caught in a portal storm and ends up crashing somewhere in the facility. You awaken several hours later, new orders have come in, the research facility has passed the point of no return. All units are to assist in delivery of the package, the final hours of the Resonance Cascade have begun...

I will sometimes post bonus media from DM on my personal page, these will be more extra scenes, such as the ones I've uploaded now- a couple of areas from existing HL locations which I've already shown here. I don't like the idea of posting more of that, so the next images posted here will feature all brand new areas, coming soon...

May i ask how you're planning to implement stealth based maps? Half-Life's AI usually makes notice of the player at the slightest movement. Will it be done through clever scripted sequences or coding?

Not if you crouch and walk instead of running ;) Probably it'll be a mixture of scripted events and maybe some ai modifications, I'm not 100% on that yet, but we'll figure it out...

You know this will be a huge guess but i assume the weapon roster would be.
Slot 1: M9 Bayonet Knife
Slot 2: Silenced Glock 17 and possibly either a .357 or Deagle more than likely Deagle
Slot 3: MP5 w/grenade launcher attachment/M4 Carbine, SPAS-12 Shotgun/SPAS-12 w/folding stocks
Slot 4: RPG w/laser guidance system, Hivehand
Slot 5: MK2 Hand Grenade maybe some Satchel Charges and Tripmines maybe even Snarks and possibly some Flash Grenades
Slot 6: M40A1 Sniper Rifle could be in Slot 3 maybe
And that what i can predict plus you said there will a few new weapons so i assume there would be possibly 2 or 3 not counting a silenced Glock.
But who do i know i am just making random guesses and predictions for funsies.

Btw for these stealth sections, i hope you don't do one of those things of the game telling you game over whenever you get spotted and not giving you a second chance to fight them and kill them, essentially it saying
"Hey mate i know i'm based on a game where you can approach any combat situation in any way you want to,but for this bit you have to do exactly what i tell you to and don't get spotted in the slightest"
I really hope you don't do that.

Definitely not, this isn't Splinter Cell!

Stealth is probably just going to be limited to being quiet to get one hit kills with the M9, if you're spotted, you can still carry on, it'll just be harder for you. Of course, quicksave/load is still a thing ;)

Finally in this small update, I am proud to bring you the first brand new weapon in Dark Matter - the M9 Bayonet!

Introduced into the US military in 1986, and used in various combat zones throughout the years, the M9 is a well known knife model. In Dark Matter it is the standard boot knife of the Special Black Operations unit.

In the primary function it is just like any knife, used to slash things in the face and smash crates open. In it's secondary function, if Kovac can carefully sneak up on an enemy, a single stab will instantly kill most lower tier foes such as grunts. Be careful though, if you're detected before you can strike, the secondary attack will be unusable and will have to dispatch your foe by other means or even go "loud" instead.

Dark Matter has some sections where a stealth approach may be a better option than all guns blazing, and the knife along with a silenced glock provide the tools to make it past the enemy without bringing them all down on you.

You begin the game with this trusted friend, beaten and bloody, you'll need to carefully make it past the HECU hordes quietly if you want to escape alive...
