You are Kovac, a senior agent in the covert Special Black Operations unit. You're deployed to Black Mesa to halt the next phase of the science team's plan after HECU forces are unsuccessful in stopping Freeman from launching the Omega Satellite delivery rocket... ...but you fail, the procedure ends up creating massive portal storms in the sky sending you and your team through a void to oblivion and back. You wake up almost twenty four hours later; the military has withdrawn, and everyone and everything besides your fellow Black Operators are now a target. By the way, the good name for Black Ops' mod (Dark Matter).
Perhaps you should shift the player around to a different seat? Perhaps to the opposite side in the middle seat between two other black ops. That way it doesn't resemble the OpFor intro too much.
I had thought about this, but you can't see much outside as a result, that's the problem...
I see, you make a good point. How about inverting it? Instead of sitting in the current seat, you sit in the opposite seat? That way you will be looking out the other doorway.

I dunno really, I'll probably just keep it as it is. Think of it this way, did people complain Blue Shift's intro was too much like Half-Life? If aint broke, no need to fix it!
DM's intro is similar but also very different to Opposing Force, and ties in with a very significant event that takes place during the Black Mesa incident... ;)
