You can play the Ravenholm mod now in preparation for the future episodic release of John's travels, Eye of the Storm. Picking up the story after John's escape from Ravenholm, you will visit new locations and meet new characters as you are taken prisoner by the Combine in City 24 and are reunited with an old friend from your resistance fighter days in City 17. Now he appears to be the key to unlocking the next chapter of your forgotten past.
Does it not seem there is a greater power behind the curtains?
It is here - the end of Eye of the Storm developement. Constant Source SDK problems and arrival of easy modable StarCraft 2 (now I'm working on small StarCraft II campaign that will probably appear on MODDB) stopped EOTS episode II developement. I've decided to release uncompleted Episode II but it is FOR FANS ONLY - it can contain bugs, level desing and gameplay aren't as good as I want it to be.
I'm very glad that Valve allowed us to mod their game and it was great experience. I'd like to thank again everyone who helped me out with this mod and every player who send his or her opinion about it. I hope I could return to developing FPS games in the future... as a full-time job :)
Eye of the Storm themed map won HunterVille Mapping Competition. You can download it NOW.
I want to show you my latest work - map for HunterVille – Mapping Competition. Gameplay elements are done and now I'm polishing level design...
The end of this year is coming and we want to wish you happy new year! We also have a short teaser video of Eye of the Storm episode II on that occasion...
Our work is quite slow but still we've got something new to show.
This is a Chinese subtitle patch for Eye of the Storm: Episode 1, Instructions for use are attached. 这是一份针对风暴之眼:第一章的字幕汉化补丁,内含使用说明...
Full Source 2013 support, various bugfixes, new content and more!
This patch fixes most issues related to engine branch incompatibility and is designed to run using the latest "Beta" of Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer...
I've decided to release uncompleted Episode II as I'am not working on it anymore mainly because of constant Source SDK errors. FOR FANS ONLY - IT IS UNCOMPLETED...
Final version of first episode. I hope you like it! You need to have Half-life 2: Episode Two.
Incredible improvement over the first installment to the point where it doesn't even seem like it's the same author.
Rich environments and engaging progression. Ravenholm had a problem with quantity over quality. Eye of the Storm is a total reversal. I wish there was more, but still, this has renewed my enjoyment of mods after I burned through all the classics.
Voice acting is legit. I can actually turn the subtitles off on a mod and have it be a halfway enjoyable experience. Citizens even had multiple catchphrases and would get ****** at your lollygagging. Just like the real thing. Ahhh.
The administrator was also well done with authentic-sounding speeches that felt believable. Actually feels like it could be a Half-Life game. Great worldbuilding.
Same wacky story, but even improves on that with some more imaginative cutscenes. All around feels more premium and finished than Ravenholm ever did. Ravenholm could be a masterpiece with EOTS's pacing, environments, and mapping. Suffice to say this is nearing masterpiece territory.
Not perfect, but I had a blast, so it gets a 10/10.
Shame this was never finished. Episode 1 was awesome. Good luck to whatever you are doing.
Way better than Ravenholm. A massive improvement, unfinished, but incredible.
Hello ! I'm here because i'm an orchestral, cinematic music composer. I see you are working hard on this mod and it would be a pleasure for me to make you custom musics for your mod :D (I'm a volunteer and i ask this to multiples devs to get some experience so it's free :D) Contact me if interested.

This is a great step up from Ravenholm.
I guess Chapter Two is probably dead in the water right about now, but this Chapter One is all amazing, from its setpiece and much improved storytelling. Those and the custom HUD icon really feels like the creator really improves.
The story is much more coherent and makes more sense. Although, I’m not sure if the Resistance knows about the protagonists’ “power”.
My favorite scene is where I fought the Policemen down the river with a boat. The music compliments everything!
Score: 8/10
I wish its status were "released" instead if "TBD", because it HAD a release and you can't rate it otherwise.
So I'll leave my short review here.
9/10
This mod flew past me back in the day, so I first played it just an hour ago.
It's short (they were aiming for more episodes, it didn't happen) but it's pretty sweet.
Good level design: truthful to Half-Life 2, without excess or some crazy graphical features. Some places can be mediocre but it's often really good and all that Easter Europe atmosphere, classic.
Gameplay is mostly classic (or maybe you should say standard, but it's not bad) with some really fun ideas, like the "Ride" chapter.
Voice acting varies from pretty good to rather medium level. Still, even at its worst it's alright for a mod.
Even includes custom developer commentaries which very few mods have, at all. The commentaries, while somewhat insightful, aren't really super interesting. Still, it's the kind of option you don't have to complain about, if you don't need then just don't use it.
Shame we didn't get to see a continuation. Oh well. This mod from 2009 is still better than a large portion of what came out in the last 5 years.
Wow its awesome mod to see the vision of a citizen from City 17 :D
I just downloaded EOTS and put the steampipe fix in gameinfo.txt.
The opening of the mod runs fine, but when the protagonist drives the car onto the bridge and stops, the headcrab walks near the car, and he just sits in the car, looking right and left, like he's looking in the mirror, but does nothing more.
Is this an issue other people have experienced ?
Thanks for the mod.
I think I figured it out. I believe I applied the fix to EOTS ep2 not ep1. Should be good. I'll reply again if that doesn't solve it.
I hope someone gets around to continuing this mod because that was really promising from what we got.
