This mod allows you fully change the game experience by playing the game as an old school shooter, not the fussing butcher pulling the loot out of pinata-monsters.

The mod allows enable any custom set of the following options:

Misc

  • Disable the intro video.

Gameplay

Monsters

  • Disable enemy loot dropping and make a significant flame belch damage;
  • Disable the glory kills and monsters staggering, killing the bosses with any weapon. Except the Khan Maykr & Dark Lord(DLC2) bosses;
  • Disable unlimited monsters respawn;
  • Disable the buff totems and buffed demons;
  • Marauder does not have invulnerable shield and cannot summon a wolf;
  • Khan Maykr boss: can be shooted with ballista when staggered, does not health regenerate at fighting, reduce amount of summoning drones to aide in battle;
  • Icon of Sin boss cannot summon the demons to aide in battle;
  • Cursed prowler(DLC2) can not to curse the player;
  • Stone imp(DLC2) takes the same weapon damage as a normal imp;
  • Armored Baron(DLC2) does not regenerate the armor;
  • Riot Soldier's(DLC2) shield block the weapon damage only with a direct hit;
  • Dark lord boss(DLC2): cannot summon phantom monsters to aide in battle, takes a normal(not reduced) damage when not in staggered.

World

  • Stop floating platforms falling;
  • Replace the runes with bullets ammo;
  • Replace the extra 1UP & 2UP lives with medkits;
  • Remove the secrets (flying question marks);
  • Replace the automap stations with medkits;
  • Replace the codex entries with bullets ammo;
  • Remove escape timer in Super Gore Nest level;
  • Remove the dense poisonous fog in "Blood Swamps"(DLC1) and "The World Spear"(DLC2) levels;
  • Disable the things lock the player in arena: energy barriers, doors locking, teleporting back to arena;
  • Punch switches does not returning back;
  • Remove spinning fire chains;
  • The plants with poisonous bubbles will not burst in "Blood Swamps"(DLC1) level;
  • All locked doors can be opened.

Player

  • Increase amount of picking up health;
  • Disable the sentinel armor;
  • Allow fall damage;
  • Decrease regeneration interval between the boosters;
  • Constant half-sec interval between the boosters, restoring does not require surface standing;
  • Twice decrease all damage to player;
  • Thrice decrease all damage to player;
  • Enable crouching with left Ctrl key.

Visuals


  • Delayed bodies fading;
  • Disable gibs fading;
  • Disable decals fading;
  • Disable alarm with red screen on critical health;
  • Disable self-luminous for monsters;
  • Increase a distance on which light sources work;
  • Disable shadows fading at distance.

Weapons and ammo


  • Increase weapons ammo count, including picking up and upgrading;
  • Replace fuel tanks with plasma ammo;
  • Decrease shotgun spread;
  • Disable zooming in shotgun alternate shooting modes;
  • Decrease double barrel shotgun spread;
  • Set double barrel shotgun damage equal to twice single shotgun damage;
  • Increase heavy cannon`s projectiles speed;
  • Increase rocket launcher`s rockets speed at single shots;
  • Disable zooming in ballista alternate shooting mode.

Perks

  • Disable shotgun`s "Movement speed while in Full Auto mode +20%" perk;
  • Disable shotgun`s "Killing a demon with the Full Auto mod will drop shell ammo" master perk;
  • Disable heavy cannon`s "Kills with the Heavy Cannon boost Micro Missile damage by 30% for 5 seconds" perk;
  • Disable heavy cannon`s "Precision Bolt movement speed +15%" perk;
  • Disable heavy cannon`s "A headshot kill will set off a powerful, secondary blast that deals damage to nearby demons" master perk;
  • Disable plasma rifle "Demons that are detonated by the Microwave Beam will trigger a concussive blast that falters nearby enemies" master perk;
  • Disable double barrel shotgun`s "fire-hook" master perk;
  • Disable ballista`s "Arbalest mode movement speed +30%" perk;
  • Disable ballista`s "Arbalest will start recharging instantly after a direct hit" master perk;
  • Disable chaingun`s "Increased movement speed while in Mobile Turret mode" perk;
  • Disable chaingun`s "Dashing into heavy demons will cause them to falter" perk;
  • Disable chaingun`s "Dealing enough damage with the Chaingun while the Energy Shield is active will launch it forward on release. Any demons hit by this projectile will falter" master perk.

Mission 12 - Low on guns ammo. That passage not far from the start where numerous jumps were necessary. You can't play that meaningfully, regardless of difficulty. Fully weapons upgraded and modified.

Rivarez Mod it's great and I enjoyed using it. I didn't want to play the original version of Doom Eternal.

I really enjoyed Doom 2016, the map progression and the story. There were combat encounters that started what Eternal will become, but it was still OK. Then Eternal was summoned and it was really the end of classic Doom gameplay. I didn't like it at all - the frenetic arcade ego trip. ;p I just stopped playing Eter(a)nal without even finishing it. Then came these dlcs.. and so on.. and finally, I "discovered" this great mod! ;)

I am playing the latest version v6.66 Rev 2.2. , and love the fact that you can combine other mods with it. First i used Modinjector (Super Punch, DoomFX II, Beefier Weapon SFX, HUD LowHealth Decrapifier, Keep The Dead) and then Rivarez mod. Everything works great so far - as long as you don't enable the location/barrier option.

Mission 8 cannot be played in the second phase without the game over. Any weapons I used, or chose any difficulty it was unplayable. Another armor would need to be added.

Mission 8 Completed. Health on HUD 5, as the second phase of the fight neared its conclusion. Dificulty - Easy. Even so, it was a very difficult boss fight, crowned by the game's save system.

Well i am in favor of how they upgraded the DOOM 3 experience , from perfectly design death choreography and level concepts claustrophobic to the point of insanity huge DOOM 2016 levels with the same mentality , it is so nice to have a modding tool that can bring the experience and fan to the levels the average gamer old or new school wants.

Not really sure but you seem to be more of a 20xx Gamer which is fine by me , 2016 version i consider it a bridge between old and new school gamers ID is a company they have to adapt with the new generation of customers.
But if you need to enjoy and respect ID as a top end gaming company you have to study playing their craft mainly after 20xx to whatever is seen concurrency.

They should have provided all their tools and source code and a darkradiant like map editor for all those who want to fully mod this bad baby , this is how the darkmod gone a game in its own right and why after nearly 20 years DOOM 3 is still playable and even competing other games like Dead Space Remake even!

Does this also work in Doom 2016?

6.66 is not the number of the beast any more but the Doom Slayer's emergency phone call where 911 fails 6.66 prevails.

An option to increase the weapon FOV would be nice, otherwise everything is great

ps: I add command hands_fovScale "0.9" in file Rivarez.cfg
This is approximately FOV for weapon at 110, it worked

Great, but i would make faster rifle projecticles, and twice ammo pickup than you already made. And no zoom when using mods especially for shotgun, because it decrease sensitivity

you fixed the game, I've looked over all the options in the menu and keep almost all of them, big thanks !

one problem I get a message when pressed install error initializing MCI, other times the error message says cannot determine device type from the game filename extension
