PSX DOOM and DOOM 64 total conversions for GZDoom, overhauled. This mod builds on the existing total conversions of PlayStation DOOM and DOOM 64 for GZDoom, PSX DOOM TC and DOOM 64 Retribution, to take advantage of the latest GZDoom versions and add many features that make them more faithful but were impossible to implement at their time of release. To achieve this, a large amount of the code has been adapted from GEC Master Edition (also known as DZDoom), while looking at the reverse engineered code and existing source ports of these games for reference. In addition to that, the mod is highly modular and contains many *optional* "enhancements" that deviate from the original experience. Depending on your preference, you can choose to play as close to vanilla as possible, or experiment and play with upscaled textures, PBR materials, flashy particle effects and other features that are common in other GZDoom mods.
Small bugfix release. Contains DOOM 64 CE with graphics and audio addons. Requires a patched DOOM64.IWAD (see prerequisites instructions below). Comes bundled with GZDoom 4.7.1 for convenience, but you can use an existing installation of it. Read the readme for more details.
Hey that's great! Thanks for including my request!
I have a couple of questions:
1. If I'm upgrading from v3.1.2, do I just download v3.1.3 Lite and drop the stuff in the same folder?
2. How can I toggle vanilla blood spurts from enemies, and vanilla weapon firing animations?
Thanks again!
1. Yep, just overwrite the files. No need to run the installer this time.
2. For weapon animations, go into the Features menu, Graphics Features and disable Smooth weapons. For vanilla blood, go into Special Effects Features and change Blood Type and Gib Type to Vanilla, Blood Spot Type to Sprites, and disable additional options like Corpse Blood.
Thanks,
and one more question:
There's a “Show Berserk” option in the menus, but I don't know what it does.
I was looking for a way, on the alternative HUD,
to make the health kit image beside your HP,
go black the way a Berserk looks.
Kind of like how your armour image goes blue when you pick up a Mega Armor. I think the health kit image in regular Doom GZDoom does this. Am I missing something?
This was an oversight from my side, I've fixed it for the next version
That's great thanks!
Hey actually there's a couple more things I wanted to ask, but they're really more personal preference, and no pressure to add them but...
Firstly, would it be possible to add an option to change the Red/Blue/Yellow key door rejection sound to something else? Because the current sound a) lasts too long, and b) is just the item pickup sound played 3 times. Just for consistency's sake.
And second, am I right in assuming that the black hole on the Imp corpse sprite is the Imp's *******? Would it be possible to add an option to use air-brushed Imp corpse sprites? Because I know I'm probably being a snowflake, but I don't really like seeing gaping demon ******* pointed in my direction every time I kill one of those things.
I'd consider those things, but that's how they were in the originals, so I'd like to keep it faithful...
Gzdoom 4.8 is incompatible.
I received 14 errors messages about decorate scripts.
Any idea how to solve this?
I have problems with Gzdoom 4.71 too, is about inconsistence frame rate, one time is 30fps, other time is 3fps. Other day is normal 60fps, and i do nothing only restart system linux!
