DECAY: SINGULARITY - Co-op to Single Player Update Notes

DUAL ACCESS (hts01, hts02)

  • The scanner booth now requires only one player. Step into the scanner once and then proceed to the guard booth.
  • After meeting doctors Keller and Rosenberg, both Gina and Colette's duties need to be completed. Keller will open the first scanner booth for you to retrieve the sample. Once done, return to the control room and enter the second scanner.

HAZARDOUS COURSE (hts03)

  • When disengaging the ceiling turrets, the security door will no longer lock. Quickly move through the hallway before the turrets reactivate.
  • A brief delay has been added to the operation of the large fans. Rotate the valve quickly and head towards the opposite end of the room.
  • Raising the elevator manually now requires only one player. You can operate either side of the crank.

SURFACE CALL (hts04)

  • A slight delay has been introduced to the puzzle involving the rail carts, and some of their starting positions have been adjusted.

RESONANCE (hts05)

  • You'll encounter a guard booth with electrified water. Pressing the switch will momentarily open the door, disabling the electricity for a few seconds. There's no need to have someone hold the door open. Just press the switch and move swiftly.
  • The secondary dampening locks no longer spawn alien grunts, but instead spawn houndeyes and bullsquids, since you don't have someone watching your back.
  • Later on, you'll reach a control room for the primary dampening lock. A delay has been added when activating the switch, allowing for one-way passage into the transit system area.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (hts06)

  • The main security gate now requires only one player.
  • A trash can has been added in the swimming pool area, providing a boost into the air vent.

CODE GREEN (hts07)

  • After reaching the elevator shaft, you can now return to the first air vent without needing someone to open the elevator shaft doors for you.

CROSSFIRE (hts08)

  • A delay has been added to the steam control in the pit with the pipes. Fully turn the valve and act quickly.
  • A delay has also been added when raising the focus emitter.
  • Raising the focus emitter manually now only requires one person. You can operate either side of the crank.

INTENSITY (hts09)

  • Player spawns with 50% more ammo.
  • Keller will lower and raise the elevator without the need for two players.
  • The mirror portion of the Beam Matrix puzzle is no longer required. Simply reach the laser control room and activate the three lasers. Once activated, you can begin your trek back to reach Dr. Keller.

When a Half Life Decay mod where one of the characters is controlled by an AI. This so that when you switch characters, the other one doesn't stay idle and is more active.

I'm glad you did the solo version of the decay, I needed it to spend the rest of the game without anyone. Because in the original I had friends who left me halfway through the game and my friends always failed me. In the end I was never able to spend the entire game if I didn't have anyone to spend it with. so now I can know what happens the rest of the game. By the way, it would also be necessary for you to correct all the bugs it has in various levels to complete the mission properly. There are times when it gets bugged at the end of the mission and other times in the middle, so correct that in future updates.

Here is Decay Walkthrough, this mods does support Xash3D just fine and it's really good for hard difficulty. There ya go.

Also it's really nice to see Opposing Force crossover haha.

When playing the latest version, I enountered a couple of issues:
1) there are some slightly misalligned textures in the beginning Imgur.com
2) a broken shadow Imgur.com
3) the HEV charger is missing the blue glass bit Imgur.com
4) during the ending with Dr. Keller, the Gina is seemingly floating in mid air and fare away from Dr. Keller Imgur.com
5) Dr. Rosenberg still uses some scientist lines (like the sci_fear set)
6) when the game takes me to Xen Attacks after the credits, the chapter title doesn't show up
7) the HUD isn't gray like in Decay

also what about this

There seems to be an issue where, if you talk to the security guard in Domestic Violence, his sequence breaks and he no longer talks to Keller, softlocking the game. The issue was present in the 2008 port too, but considering you seem to be using the original PS2 maps, this is probably a bug caused by the different .dll than the map itself.

Maybe see if replacing his scripted_sequences with aiscripted_sequences could help? Those typically override other NPC behaviors

Thanks for stopping by! We're all looking forward to Solo Mission! But I believe you're correct. I am at the mercy of the '08 .dlls. Thanks for the suggestion, I will certainly try that. I also considered replacing him with a monster_generic which will remove his ability to be spoken to. He doesn't engage in battle anyway. I could try that if the ai_ss idea doesn't work.

[Edit: using aiscripted_sequence didnt resolve the issue, but I was able to fix this issue by requiring the player to lead the Barney to last scripted_sequence, rather than targeting it from the one before it.
PS: How's SM coming along?
Cheers!

Very strange, but glad to hear you got it worked out. Solo Mission's coming along, albeit slowly.

This is real groovy baby. I like that you are keeping it simple and just changing things to make this playable by a single character in singleplayer. Not over ambitious, and true(ish) to form of the original release.

Thanks!
