Hello brothers! This is the newest official version of IDH. Brother jONES has spent much time perfecting the faction and adding new stuff. And I made some last fixes myself.
More to this, we have now added a new branch - the Grey Knights!


DESCRIPTION
You can now play the Daemonhunters, a branch of the Inquisition in charge of destroying daemons, chaos cults and all chaotic influence from the Imperium.

The army's commander is the Inquisitor Lord and he commands over the Inquisition's troops.

When the opposition gets too strong, though, he calls on the secret chapter of Space Marines called the Grey Knights, super humans whose absolute faith and mighty psychic powers make them the most formidable soldiers in the service of the Emperor.

The original coders of the IDH project created a stand-alone project, created from scratch, so the rights to all assets exclusively belong to them, obviously.
But in order to compose the new GK branch, we added assets from various community sources. Modding is sharing, so I will soon be adding the proper Credits above :)
What is important to express is that ... we cannot trace down the origins of ALL assets used! So the credits list may not be thorough or may not include all creators!!! ...And there is a good chance some DoW2 content to have found its way into the last version of the project...
SO IF ANYONE THINKS THERE IS AN ASSET THAT SHOULD NOT BE IN, OR THAT WE HAVE NOT ADDRESSED PROPER CREDITS FOR ANYTHING, PLEASE CONTACT US AND WE WILL EITHER IMMEDIATELY REMOVE THE IMPROPER CONTENT OR ADD THE PROPER NAME TO THE LIST OF CREDITS.
We do not want to provoke or offend with our projects - but to inspire and help all WH40k lovers to enjoy more content in their favourite game. Their is no "gain" in modding, other than... ENJOYING THE BEST HOBBY IN THE WORLD :)

More Thoughts
IDH is an excellent project, and we want to thank the original team, as well as all brothers who contributed in the project :) If you do not own Soulstorm (no way!!), then GO BUY IT NOW!!! It's holidays times, the game purchase is really easy via Steam, and the game itself is VERY affordable. There is no excuse! And the same is true for the WHOLE DoW trilogy.
...Even for those with the old SS DVD version, now it's the time to buy the Steam SS version as well - there is much to be enjoyed from on-line gaming :)
Remember, you can enjoy the game BOTH on-line, AND by having some matches yourself - there are many races, many modes and too much fun still!

A personal view of DoW
Brothers, regardless opinions and reviews and critics concerning the latest release of DoW3, the DoW trilogy is the very definition and has set the standards of how the WH40k gaming should FEEL LIKE on PC.
GW gave us the marvel of the WH40k universe. And the excellence of the TableTop. And Relic (and now Sega) gave us the option to enjoy incredible games on our computer.
I just wanna say tanks to all programmers and artist and designers and novel writers and model creators involved in creating this whole world. My favourite by far.
Add to this the art of modding - and the ability to contribute an idea (no matter how tiny) to this universe, and there you have it - an OUTSTANDING experience, and a great hobby.

Welcome to our random update. I'm fuggles, your host for this visit - some of you may know me - Team Thudmeizer has been working away for the last many, many years on bringing you (hopefully) exciting and diverse mod experiences through our different race mods.

Races wot we made

If you have not tried them, then hey, give them a go - we specialise in adding mods to the vanilla soulstorm game which are all designed to ultimately work under the Unification Mod. We typically hover around 2-3 active members (sometimes 4!) and sadly have no actual 3D modellers, so have to kitbash, retexture, scar or cleverly design our armies. We have been lucky to get an influx of returning and new members to our team so we are now at least 6! We have not been so blessed in a long time, so I thought I would let you know what we are up to, as hey, we never post any updates on anything really!

Unification

This has gone a bit mad. It now supports all the defence and survival maps as well as allowing all the races to play together well (alongside Freeui). Note that we do not work to be compatible with UA, we have separate goals. The new version will enable RAGE to work properly.

Existing projects

Expect patches of varying sizes for most of projects in the next year (maybe). Certainly in the short term patches are pretty much done for Praetorians and Nightlords (will fix UCS clash with Space Wolves).

New projects

We have taken on Space Wolves and Renegade Guard. Both of which are in the very final stages, awaiting some art work, but the gameplay and unit rosters have been largely reworked into basically new projects. They each have unique playstyles which you will find interesting... and also wolves! AWOOOOOOO!!

Inquisition is also being worked on to add the Grey Knights race as a new branch on their tech tree as an alternative to the regular inquisition play style. No-one will expect that. Aha, aha aha.

A whole bunch of old projects have risen to our attention, which I shall sprinkle with very much WIP images. All subject to change etc, etc - feel free to add feedback, but this is potentially not how it will end up, if they do at all.

Death Guard

There is already RAGE, there is already Thousand Sons, so now it's time to round off the chaos gods - SPREAD THE GIFT OF OLD PAPA NURGLE!

13th Company

From out of nowhere this venerable mod appeared - even I had not heard of this one! Randomly it has some design similarities with my LOTD mod, although not quite as drastic. The 13th do not use vehicles, so it is an interesting and unique experience which came to us pretty much finished from the depths of the past. We are just giving it a special cuddle and updating it to make it fresh and lovely - Also, say hello to my little friend:

This mod started and then stopped so we thought we would try and carry it over the finish line as we found a necron fan! Branching mod with several flavours of robot madness and wait... who's that Outsider standing over there?

That's all for now, we will keep going to do what we can. There are a couple of 'maybe' projects on the horizon, but we are pretty much at capacity, especially as we are also assisting the Tyranid team! All volunteers or applications considered and thank you for continuing to support us. We are up to about 19 race mods released, so factor in these new ones then 23, plus 9 existing is 31.... that's a whole lot of random vs random combinations!

it would be cool if you add their litany as voice lines for the grey knights with the lines from the litany spread to different grey knight units and inquisitorial units quoting from inquisition quotes. some of their lines are very generic and some of the delivery are like they are meditating in a room. although the high gothic and war shouts are good.

I agree brother, that would be really immersive :)
But Thud is VERY busy with all the scripting and voicing and post-processing the voice sets of the upcoming factions...
Plus, v3.5 will probably be our "last" version regarding focus, because we need to deal with all the other mods! Not to mention that we already added half a dozen voice sets in the latest version already - but yeah... no litanies.
I have noted all your notes of course, and given the chance, I will implement them.
But new audio assets... Rather difficult...

i hope for changes just want their faction have more character i can wait and hope your other faction mods will be able to reach quality the Emperor of Mankind approves.

If there is a future update, say if your playing IDH stand-alone, would you make it so the Inquisitor's Banish ability can target the horrors of CSM. Otherwise its next to useless unless you add in Chaso Daemons mod.

Yes, we are working in that NOW!!
But it progresses in a slow pace, because it will be a HUGE project...

And there will be technology unlocking, and orbital fleet, and MANY things (well, I have already coded them!)

Plus, both brothers Kekoulis and Deathwatch78 are the ones creating the art!

another idea for researches:
the idea will be instead of using their technology as is. use an aspect of their technology to exploit their weakness.

race:tau
research: hydraulic boots
after studying the lower limbs of the kroot, the magi biologis aided the design of a hydraulic powered boots.
adds leaping ability to assault marines.

race: necron
research:necrontyr technology
by studying the power core of a necron exoskeleton, the techpriests developed a method to hasten production by harnessing nuclear radiation to power machines.
hastens unit production and researches.

race: eldar
research:calibrated focusing
by studying eldar laser weapons, the techpriests calibrated all standard las weapon design to focus more energy when firing.
add more damage to lasguns and lascannons.

race:chaos
research:corruption resistance
by studying the nature of the dark gods through different markings on corpses of chaos forces and residual warp energy, the inquisitors harness the aspect weaknesses of each dark god to their advantage.
grants resistance to damage.

race:tyranids
research: anatomical expertise
by studying the anatomy and biochemistry of tyranids, the magi biologis taught the weak spots of the bioformes and designed weapons to exploit their biochemistry.
adds extra damage to all weapons.

race:orks
research: confusion tactics
by researching ork behavior, the inquisitors exploit the weaknesses in ork chain of command throwing them in disarray.
leader unit of the squad are first to die except for commanders and adds more morale damage.

race: imperial forces
research:imperial purge
by tolerance of alien infestation of imperial ranks in question, the Ordo Xenos approved the inquisitor to purge imperial ranks.
lowers all requisition and power costs.

it would be fun if the voice lines of the death watch marines will be very angry racists.

the idea i have for the faction since they are more likely counter punchers with on the spot research and development on enemy unit line up:

turrets with strong firepower but low health.

very tough buildings since their tech up is enemy dependent and slow at the beginning and more like on the spot research and development for effective engagement they be able to weather assaults while upgrading effective weapons and researches.

their weapons and researches will be hard counters ONLY to avoid the faction to be op. no grenade launchers and knockback immunity to melee units if researched. bolter, lasgun, combat knife and bayonets as default weapons good for light infantry in few numbers.

deathwatch exclusive weapons. counterunit weapons on steroids. effective only on specific units. can be upgraded on squads as a package to be effective on certain units ONLY.

researches can be combat techniques and strategies to counter certain races studying their anatomy which gives your units more damage to certain races even with default weapons. units can be classified by race and tactics. researches can deal more damage to certain races and units.

classification according to race (currently) can be tier 1 research or unlock after killing a model or studying gene sample from corpse:

-imperium based races(xeno tolerant heretics)
-warp races(chaos worshippers, daemons and warp based races)
-eldar (eldar, dark eldar, harlequins)
-tau (tau empire, farsight enclave)
-orks (orks and ork based races)
-necrons (necrons and necron based races)
-tyranids (hive fleets and genestealers)

classification according to tactics can be
tier 2 upgrades :
-swarm types (fast reinforcement and many squad members but weak models)

-tanky types(bulky units with lot of hp)

-assault types(aggressive melee units)

-firepower types(long range high damage units)

-vehicles

-commanders(leader unit of the squad can be the first model to die if researched except for true commander units)

-jumping units(if engaged cannot teleport or jump except for commander units)

-moral damaging units(if researched your units are resistant to morale damage weapons and immune to morale damage abilities.)

limit the researches that can be researched to avoid this faction to be op but when the research is funneled to specific units should be deadly. weapon researches can deal double damage to specific type of unit but deal half damage otherwise.

-have the deathwatch kill marine be the starter unit and do the gene gathering from corpses but gene can be gathered by killing enemy units by any of your units.

-the deathwatch kill marine should be attachable.
