Hello brothers! This is the newest official version of IDH. Brother jONES has spent much time perfecting the faction and adding new stuff. And I made some last fixes myself.
More to this, we have now added a new branch - the Grey Knights!

You can now play the Daemonhunters, a branch of the Inquisition in charge of destroying daemons, chaos cults and all chaotic influence from the Imperium.

The army's commander is the Inquisitor Lord and he commands over the Inquisition's troops.

When the opposition gets too strong, though, he calls on the secret chapter of Space Marines called the Grey Knights, super humans whose absolute faith and mighty psychic powers make them the most formidable soldiers in the service of the Emperor.

New team's senior 3D artists, brother Apothecary Kekoulis - MAJOR 3D content: Many new models, like the brand-new IDH-brotherhood champion, both Librarians, the Chaplain, both Apothecaries, The Exorcist Sisters the Razorback... and COUNTLESS other model updates. The list is long, and almost EVERY model got some attention, with fixes and updates.

- Gambit: Primary AE/SCaR/AI coder.

- Thudo: MAJOR primary audio creator, and initial AI coder.

Guys, for all models, I had help in every step by brother Kekoulis.
And thanks to him, you will see the new Teri Librarian AND Librarian Models, the Chaplain, the Exorcist Sisters, updates on the Stormraven, and many more other fixes and additions here and there.
Not only that, but now we have EVEN MORE model updates!!!

The original coders of the IDH project created a stand-alone project, created from scratch, so the rights to all assets exclusively belong to them, obviously.
But in order to compose the new GK branch, we added assets from various community sources. Modding is sharing, so I will soon be adding the proper Credits above :)
What is important to express is that ... we cannot trace down the origins of ALL assets used! So the credits list may not be thorough or may not include all creators!!! ...And there is a good chance some DoW2 content to have found its way into the last version of the project...
We do not want to provoke or offend with our projects - but to inspire and help all WH40k lovers to enjoy more content in their favourite game. Their is no "gain" in modding, other than... ENJOYING THE BEST HOBBY IN THE WORLD :)

More Thoughts
IDH is an excellent project, and we want to thank the original team, as well as all brothers who contributed in the project :) If you do not own Soulstorm (no way!!), then GO BUY IT NOW!!! It's holidays times, the game purchase is really easy via Steam, and the game itself is VERY affordable. There is no excuse! And the same is true for the WHOLE DoW trilogy.
...Even for those with the old SS DVD version, now it's the time to buy the Steam SS version as well - there is much to be enjoyed from on-line gaming :)
Remember, you can enjoy the game BOTH on-line, AND by having some matches yourself - there are many races, many modes and too much fun still!

A personal view of DoW
Brothers, regardless opinions and reviews and critics concerning the latest release of DoW3, the DoW trilogy is the very definition and has set the standards of how the WH40k gaming should FEEL LIKE on PC.
GW gave us the marvel of the WH40k universe. And the excellence of the TableTop. And Relic (and now Sega) gave us the option to enjoy incredible games on our computer.
I just wanna say tanks to all programmers and artist and designers and novel writers and model creators involved in creating this whole world. My favourite by far.
Add to this the art of modding - and the ability to contribute an idea (no matter how tiny) to this universe, and there you have it - an OUTSTANDING experience, and a great hobby.

Welcome to our random update. I'm fuggles, your host for this visit - some of you may know me - Team Thudmeizer has been working away for the last many, many years on bringing you (hopefully) exciting and diverse mod experiences through our different race mods.

Races wot we made

If you have not tried them, then hey, give them a go - we specialise in adding mods to the vanilla soulstorm game which are all designed to ultimately work under the Unification Mod. We typically hover around 2-3 active members (sometimes 4!) and sadly have no actual 3D modellers, so have to kitbash, retexture, scar or cleverly design our armies. We have been lucky to get an influx of returning and new members to our team so we are now at least 6! We have not been so blessed in a long time, so I thought I would let you know what we are up to, as hey, we never post any updates on anything really!


This has gone a bit mad. It now supports all the defence and survival maps as well as allowing all the races to play together well (alongside Freeui). Note that we do not work to be compatible with UA, we have separate goals. The new version will enable RAGE to work properly.

Existing projects

Expect patches of varying sizes for most of projects in the next year (maybe). Certainly in the short term patches are pretty much done for Praetorians and Nightlords (will fix UCS clash with Space Wolves).

New projects

We have taken on Space Wolves and Renegade Guard. Both of which are in the very final stages, awaiting some art work, but the gameplay and unit rosters have been largely reworked into basically new projects. They each have unique playstyles which you will find interesting... and also wolves! AWOOOOOOO!!

Inquisition is also being worked on to add the Grey Knights race as a new branch on their tech tree as an alternative to the regular inquisition play style. No-one will expect that. Aha, aha aha.

A whole bunch of old projects have risen to our attention, which I shall sprinkle with very much WIP images. All subject to change etc, etc - feel free to add feedback, but this is potentially not how it will end up, if they do at all.

There is already RAGE, there is already Thousand Sons, so now it's time to round off the chaos gods - SPREAD THE GIFT OF OLD PAPA NURGLE!


(Yes, I was testing the bile thrower in UA, because reasons involving bugsplat CTD errors and spare time)

13th Company

From out of nowhere this venerable mod appeared - even I had not heard of this one! Randomly it has some design similarities with my LOTD mod, although not quite as drastic. The 13th do not use vehicles, so it is an interesting and unique experience which came to us pretty much finished from the depths of the past. We are just giving it a special cuddle and updating it to make it fresh and lovely - Also, say hello to my little friend:

This mod started and then stopped so we thought we would try and carry it over the finish line as we found a necron fan! Branching mod with several flavours of robot madness and wait... who's that Outsider standing over there?

That's all for now, we will keep going to do what we can. There are a couple of 'maybe' projects on the horizon, but we are pretty much at capacity, especially as we are also assisting the Tyranid team! All volunteers or applications considered and thank you for continuing to support us. We are up to about 19 race mods released, so factor in these new ones then 23, plus 9 existing is 31.... that's a whole lot of random vs random combinations!

What version of the IDH mod, does UA require?
If it requires the _SS version (MOST possible), you are OK.

Absolutely enjoying the mod! Though I will say that the GK Dreadknight appears to be a little "off". It's far faster than the other dreads and infantry and it seems like it doesn't want to use it's weapons half the time. And while it's a minor nitpick the animations could use a little work, it seems a little stiff for a unit that's supposed to have better dexterity than a dreadnought...

Well, the Dreadknight is as good as it could be, we cannot invest TOO MUCH time in one model... Still, it took me a lot of time to make the weapons in AE, as efficient as possible!
Man, try the Dreadknight in-game, and you will see that it is an UBER relic unit, able to take down many foes, before going down himself!

I see, may just have been because I was mainly playing the Survival maps. It was getting mobbed to death and destroyed by the 4 enemy relic units. Tried just a plain skirmish and it is definitely worthy of being a relic unit. Still doesn't like to use the Gatling Pysilencer once upgraded but it's still an effective unit.

Wow, such a great mod, two races included in one. Especially against Chaos Daemons, they are amazing to play (and watch).

I sent you a crash report, too much awesomeness caused some issues I guess.

... Combined with Witch Hunters.... OUCH!! ( not to mention the Easter Eggs!)

I've struggled a lot to find any of the easter eggs, could you please be so kind to give me a small hint? I'm unsure if exorcist sisters were one of them.

In IDH,they are more like some visual gags.You will understand when you see them.No new units as easter eggs.All new units are part of the 'official',current roster you see.

The easter egg approach unit wise is taken in the Witch Hunters and the Emepror's Children.

No of course not!!!!

Well, in IDH, the Easter Eggs are not units...
You will have to play with Witch Hunters or against Emperor's Children, and then notice your commanders a bit...

For Witch Hunters, just wait a couple of days for the LAST build!!
The current one gives a SCaR error, and since the new version is on the way, I thought that you guys could wait a couple more days. :)
Note also that in Witch Hunters, THERE ARE Easter Egg squads as well!
But for these, you will have to wait a bit for the hints!

As for Emperor's Children,... SOON!
