A mod made by a few people who have been playing Victoria 2 for almost 10 years. Download it if you're tired of iron shortages in the 1870s, of incompetent ai's which constantly rebel spiral, of France being absolutely useless as a nation, of railroading, of bloat, of countries never increasing their starting literacy, of the game running extremely slowly and of Russia never modernizing. DO NOT DOWNLOAD IF: You like blobbing mindlessly, you like railroading, you like microstates, you like dozens of unique cultures in Africa, you like a braindead AI, you like reforming into a social-democracy. Added tribal pops, fixed a bunch of small annoyances, some other stuff i forgot because i lost the changelog.

i lost the changelog... but there's a decent amount of changes
cores spread more easily if a province is your majority culture, and can even spread overseas
turkic pops were merged to make the central asian countries more viable to play (now, as a turk, you basically accept all your neighbor's pops, except you don't have cores on it)
arabic merged because the pop fragmentation was really stupid, you had provinces that were 100% arabic but had 6 pops of the same type, due to the sunni/shia split and the misri/bedoun/mashriqi split.
tribal pops added. their objective is to make africa more populous so colonization penalizes research points more, and so that making settler colonies isn't as easy. over time, when you raise their literacy and let them live in a state (instead of a colony), they can slowly convert into real pops
several small fixes to common bugs and annoyances
ai loses their minimum tariffs modifers now if they have a good reserve now, it should actually help them in finances in the long run, because it seems lke the AI thinks it is poor if it's tariffs are high
french language schooling can now be taken in 1870 (10 years earlier) and affects occitan land for 10 more years
russia can now no longer see the decision to sell alaska if they dont own it
fixed france often colonizing a part of the congo that is landlocked
fixed ai stating african land quite early due to decisions
made peasant reform decision slightly easier to take from 1880 onward
increased mobilization size bonus from NV's by 1% across the board otherwise it's just too weak early game and for countries with national values such as freedom
changed province shape in poland a bit to better simulate interwar borders
england can no longer take a decision against portuguese colonies linking on repeat whenever the truce is up. it is now only able to be taken once
fixed spain paying too much infamy to attack morocco via decision in 1880
you can now take naval reforms as an unciv even without having a single port, because it could cause the AI to get stuck wanting to pass a naval reform without ever doing it until reloading
becoming poland no longer needs prestige because of weird thigs it could cause with desunified polands
the aland islands now belong to finland at game start for gameplay reasons. it used to cause russia to want to blob into stockholm, and also caused issues with scandinavia vs russia wars. it also often became filled with russians very fast
organizing ethiopia now clears their "existing country" flag, which means they should civilize on release
djibuti is now part of the eritrea state, so it can possibly be colonized by someone different
somalia is now only 1 state
merged 1 ethiopian state and made the borders a bit better
merged a moroccan state, and made the gold province purely inland so france doesn't blob there uglily all the time
USA and Anglos should be more willing to compromise on oregon now
the infamy humiliate/cut down to size cb now costs a bit more infamy so it's harder to hit countries with militancy/we peace deals even without winning that hard
fixed an issue where paraguay would attack uruguay to puppet even while uruguay didnt exist (i hope)
schleswig-holstein should no longer lose cores on schleswig should denmark win, which used to let the germans tehre get assimilated
switzerland no longers gets attacked by neighboring countries if it violates it's own neutrality, so it's actually playable in that case
military directionism tech a lot more expensive now, so that countries RP generation matters more, rather than invention luck chance
added slightly more north caucasian pops at game start, so it doesn't become russian as fast
event formed NGF should form a bit sooner now in case germany gets very divided, and switzerland can no longer become the NGF (oops)
prussia now starts with 10 more prestige at game start, so they aren't as likely to fall out of GP status accidentaly after losing an early game war
treaty of simbulakro for portugal should now work correctly
italy now actually loses cores if it does the concessions with germany/austria
made the take from sphere CB a bit more flexible in case of culture unions
france now starts friendly with madagascar and the UK with johore
The US should be less likely to annex all of mexico now
japanese pacific states decisions improved
increased the warscore cost of the turks taking the caucasus in the crimean war
increased MTTH of a negative unciv event about military missions
removed prestige requirements for taking unciv NV decisions
brazil has a bit stronger army at the start so that rio grande wins less often
buffed von roon stats a bit and von wrangel, to help prussia a bit
gave prussia a few more soldier pops at game start to help them more reliably form germany. by 1850 their strength should be the same, but very early game they should be a bit stronger
improved the war over the kurils a bit
mandate of heaven now gives a negative research modifier to nerf qing westernization speed
changed how south africa is at game start and the relevant events
gave the taiping better generals and 30 more days before the war starts
gave the CSA better generals, more fitting traits for the generals and 30 more days before the war starts
prussia now gets von moltke as a general when they take their general staff decision
torching the summer palace now gives china a lot more war exhaustion
natalia now gets annexed faster by the anglos after their historical time
improved a bug that happened with italy very rarely
the owner of algeria should get the sahara via event now
gave morocco more soldiers at game start
gave some more soldiers to ethiopia at game start
buffed ethiopian decision research point gain
jerusalem should no longer petition for annexation
monitors are now light ships, to encourage the ai to build a better navy during ironclad era. otherwise, they just get stuck with ironclads and commerce raiders, which would lose to a player with just ironclads or monitors
made the election event "slavery debate" fire only half as often as before, because you used to get spammed with it way too much if you had slaves
nerfed qing research point generation a bit
yunnan and the uyghurs should revolt together with the taiping a bit faster. they also have better event generals now
lowered starting relations between morocco and algeria so they're less likely to ally
added a failsafe to the enslave the free event if the american civil war didn't happen
ai russia should now keep manchuria if they justify for it instead of returning it for treaty ports
manchuria has better reforms at game start, instead of chinese reforms, they have 3 military reforms. gave them more soldiers too. the idea is to make them more mightocratic and so that they help china militarily a lot, and also to make them more playable
china should westernize a bit later now
Mod doesnot work, what I can do?
What happens? Try deleting your documents/paradox interactive/victoria 2/crimeamod folder
And try deleting the mod folder and reinstalling
And make sure you're not running it with any other mod
If that doesn't work, reinstall your vicky and make sure it's 3.04

hi i found a problem with the anex state to substate wg, if you uses and the country that you annex have a puppet that puppet does not become free and you can never go to war to that country to me hapenned to the vietnam and camboya, i annex vietnam to satsuma and camboya is still considered a puppet of vietnam event when they dont exist anymore idk if that can be patched on some way.
another thing just to bordergore the provinces 1073 and 2663 of the state of kamchatka can you remove from that state and incorporate to another? is ugly when you take that state and that 2 provinces create a wheird border i will keep comenting suggestions thanks for the mod its my favorite

Can you add a startdate that re-adds the African countries and the Scramble mechanics? Seeing the empty Africa is really boring, since it makes colonization so much easier and just doesn't make sense historically. I'd just re-add it manually, but then I wouldn't be able to convert all the West Africa pops to the colonized type.
Plus it's just so much more interesting, as you could say, puppet Sokoto and use them as a bludgeon, taking advantage of autonomy boosting their pop usefulness. at the cost of infamy and other powers trying to take it for themselves.
No plans for this sorry. But you can release african nations as civilized puppets after you organize the colonies and let the cores spread
Hi, I really like your mod, tho I may have a suggestion: in a recent game I liberated Israel, and I couldn't help to notice that, when the jews started migrating, Israel would get tons of communists, who would then revolt soon after. Maybe it could be a good idea to have the migrating pops get less radical when getting to Israel, like changing more to conservative, liberal or socialists, even if it is quite funny how they tend to revolt soon after arriving to their stablished nation xD
