A mod made by a few people who have been playing Victoria 2 for almost 10 years. Download it if you're tired of iron shortages in the 1870s, of incompetent ai's which constantly rebel spiral, of France being absolutely useless as a nation, of railroading, of bloat, of countries never increasing their starting literacy, of the game running extremely slowly and of Russia never modernizing. DO NOT DOWNLOAD IF: You like blobbing mindlessly, you like railroading, you like microstates, you like dozens of unique cultures in Africa, you like a braindead AI, you like reforming into a social-democracy. Credits to: Blood & Iron, PDM, Manifest Destiny submod and Sucession submod.

Description

Quite a few ai improvements. They should do better early game now, and should also focus a bit more on military techs. Scandinavia, when formed by anyone other than Finland, can create a new Nordic culture which all their former danish/norwegian/swedish pops will assimilate to over time. All american countries now get the option to ship their afro pops back to Liberia once they abolish slavery, this is more likely to happen if Liberia is a player. A bug with a genocide event was fixed, causing it to kill less pops than desired. A bunch of other small fixes and balance changes

So i had this bug happenin'.
Formed GCF and puppeted prussia via sphere and then event to give'em "special status". Years later neutral Switzerland formed NGF with my puppet of Prussia.
I've got an event sayin' that they threw away their neutrality by doing so.
But in fact I still could not fabricate a CB nor aquire CORE as if the NGF inherited neutrality.
BTW great mod ~ keep up the good work.

Please bring the African countries back. Colonization is so much less interesting without them.

A few issues I've had:

****** up Germany. I've played multiple campaigns, (RUS, NET, USA, ITA, SPA, all up to 1900+) and Germany has been unable to form at all. Prussia keeps getting BTFO'd by Austro-French aggression. In my SPA run in particular, Austria ended up becoming the SGF and then became the NGF while an independent Prussia was running around eating glue.

USA feels a little inconsistent. On one hand you have the annexation of Mexico and subsequently renaming the states and provinces there, and Canada can apply for statehood which is all cool, however Canada's cores are dependent on what stage of the game you're in and there's no decision for taking British North America like there is with Mexico, so sometimes if you win too quickly you might end up with British exclaves particularly around the Columbia region with no coastal access which need to be taken. This also means you don't get cores on those newer territories whereas you get free cores on Canada after it applies for statehood.

Other than that, updates are nice. State changes are cool but could have used a bit of extra flavor to go along with them.

I'm pretty sure all Canadian minors petition for annexation and give you cores on their lands, so even if Canada doesn't have cores, you can for example puppet rupert's land and have them petition
About germany, i have been trying to fix it. prussia is just not strong enough now that austria and france aren't meme countries, hopefully i'll manage to find a sweet spot

did a Britain>Natal>South Africa run recently, and when i abolished slavery slave states did not become free states, and their populations stayed enslaved.
also idk if i'm just not reading the tooltip right but it seems like the genocide decision doesn't kill anywhere near as many as it's supposed to, i'll select the kill ******* button and 80-90% of ******* will survive, even in the regions where they're supposed to be killed

I'll look into the slavery thing, did you let the game run for a while after abolishing? it is not instant, often taking 1-2 months. but i think i might add a fail-safe anyways

About genocide, it is not very strong, you're meant to do it several times over a long period of time. Why is it not that strong? Because it fixes the assimilation bug. If you do it, you won't have their clergymen, their craftsmen, their soldiers, etc anymore. If it fixed the assimilation bug and was also strong, you could bleach anything in 20 years.
Also, genocide does not kill slaves (they have their own stronger genocide that unlocks later). This could be related to the bug you encountered not abolishing slavery

Hey man, I solved the problem.
I used a non-steam version (Victoria 2 Civil) and patched Heart of Darkness and the sprites. It works as a charm.

However..I'm doing a German playthrough and even though there's a file in common/countries showing Mittelafrika.txt I can't find events and/or decisions to form it. Nor can't I enslave Bedouins, Berbers, Mashriq or Ashkenazis, just "Africans".

Suggestions: making Reichkomissariats decisions/Vichy France/ the construction of Germania and Mittelafrika.

Lot to ask I know.. but your mod has been so far the more engaging I've been playing in years.

Cheers!

mittelafrika is an old unused tag

you can only enslave africans, asian minors and african-americans normally

you can, however, do the "dilligence project" which makes all your non-accepted culture pops promote and demote into slaves over time

When you play as Paraguay and make decisions that lead to "War of the Triple Alliance", if Uruguay doesn't exist, Paraguay has an eternal war with them, you canĀ“t peace out.

Good mod, by the way.
