Looks awesome! I can't wait for CoP to finally have dynamic events and missions. Now we just need some proper weapon models.

Having vanilla weapons is better for now, so the modders can easily include weapon mod(s) for their likings in the future. ;-)

That's great to hear, it greatly extends ChoC's replayability. First playing with vanilla weapons, then SWM, then Gunslinger ... etc.

From what I can see (well, HEAR) the zone is kinda too much alive. I mean... I heard shots in the environment around you almost all the time.
Remember, part of the good stalker's atmosphere is the creepy feeling of desolation :) especially in Dark Valley
But the dynamic task sounds like an awesome feature!

I understand that there are players who like a vacant eerie Zone with a strong atmosphere but there are always players who like consistent action. Call of Chernobyl was designed to be fun and action packed. It will be hard to get bored. In the normal games the alife supplemented that gameplay, but in CoC the gameplay depends on the alife. With that said, tweaking spawns is not very hard, something like this can be done in 5 mintues with notepad++ and searching for respawn_params in gamedata\configs\scripts and lowering respawn count.

Mutant spawns might be a too agressive at the moment. But I was planning on revamping how mutants are handled by the gulag job system. I never got around to doing this so mutants are still a bit chaotic.

will the hud be optional with the final release? I like the stock HUD the most IMO so it would be nice to have an option

Description

Stalkers throughout the Zone will sometimes offer tasks. In this case, a hostage rescue task. This task is dynamic in that the hostage location is based on A-life. For example if bandits are located at a certain camp within the level, this task may be available by stalker faction NPCs. The hostage will be spawned at that location and the task will be started. Freedom and Duty versions exist where the hostage my be located among the opposing faction or among bandits.

Every time the player is offered this task, it will be like a new experience.
