C42:Contact is a remake of Colony 42, an unfinished Half-Life mod by Notewell.
Colony 42 put the player in the role of Oscar Guthrie, a member of the colony's maintenance division, as first contact is made with a less than amiable race.
C42:Contact will follow the original plot line while rebuilding all of the areas from the unfinished release from the ground up, improving visuals and gameplay throughout. It will also include the original planned conclusion, which was absent from the unfinished release.
While development on The Core wraps up, this mod will develop very slowly and will likely not be released for a few years at this stage.

This side project started as a distraction to prevent me from burning out on The Core's looong development. This of course started before I signed a contract with Slipgate Ironworks/3D Realms to work on Phantom Fury and Core Decay. Needless to say, there has been less time for The Core and... zero time for C42. There have been no updates made since mid-2020. Therefore, I believe it is time to pull the plug.
Just to put your mind at ease, The Core has always been the priority outside of my contract work and is still being actively developed. That project isn't going anywhere until it's in your hands.
