Following the GZDoom port of Doom 64, BD-64 revitalizes the old Doom 64 with new special effects, particles, lightning, gore, new sounds, more weapon animations (shotgun reloads, smoother minigun barrels, etc.) and monsters and stuff cut from the original Nintendo 64 version. Works on GZDoom and Zandronum in OpenGL mode. (Zdoom and Zandronum Software mode are not supported.) No downloads available yet. Mod still is very early WIP.

Post feature Report RSS New video is up showing BD64 being played with Vanilla Doom maps

You can also see some new gore and sound effects...

On this new video you can see Brutal Doom 64 being played with Vanilla Doom maps. I play some minutes of Doom 1, Doom 2 and Final Doom Evilution to demonstrate how the mod will be playable without requiring the Doom 64 maps, and acting as a gameplay mod just like regular Brutal Doom.

You can also see some new sound effects, new blood decals, and other stuff going on.

I am planning to release the first version of BD64 this month before Halloween. An announcement trailer will come up soon.

Looking good, but I still think there needs to be more visual differences between the Pistol Zombie and the Shotgunner, as they still look hard to tell apart from afar and in the heat of combat. Could you not edit the latter's sprites to make them closer to its vanilla counterpart, i.e. different uniform colour and bald head?

Also, how do I play Doom II with BD64? The method shown in the video only seems to load Doom 64 maps.
