Basewars is a modification that brings strategic-style space combat to Descent 3. Based on the Hyperspace level series (made between 2003-2004) basewars is like an entirely new game, with new playerships, 20 new weapons, new enemys and a new style of gameplay for Descent III. Divided between an interactive series of star systems, Basewars puts players on either the Red or Blue team - Each team must defend their base, while taking down the enemy base. The first team to destroy the other base wins. Alternatively, players can explore up to 8 different star systems by themselves or in groups, facing down all kinds of enemy ships from fighters, to battleships - you can even explore facilties and discover new types of weaponry.
