Ages of the Federation is a new total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion. This mod takes place in the Enterprise and Original series eras, focusing on the conflict between the early Federation and Klingon Empire. A resurgent Romulan Star Empire, angry and still licking its wounds after their defeat to Earth and her allies waits in the shadows, ready to take advantage of any of misstep by either the warring powers. The Xindi, new to the galactic stage are also eager to forge their own path.

In 2241 border disputes between the Federation and the Klingon Empire reached a breaking point. As diplomacy failed and finally ended altogether, the Empire sent a fleet across the border, easily smashing whatever Starfleet forces they encountered and proceeding directly to the colony world of Arcanis - the Federation colony closest to the border.
The Klingons bombarded the colony for hours, reducing cities to burning rubble and killing thousands of Federation citizens. Landing troops in the aftermath to secure what remained, the Imperial banner would fly over Arcanis for four long, grueling years.
