I wish that was something they could have shown in the Enterprise series more. There was a lot left hanging with the cancellation.

I second that! The Earth-Romulan war was just on the horizon. Barnacles!

You can thank Les Moonves for that. He's gone now, but it remains to be seen if CBS (which may also merge with Paramount) will return to true canon.

If only they'd continue it where they left off.

Description

A Suliban Salvage Cruiser departs a Helix Station, en route to gather supplies for the Cabal. Though they remain active, being cut off from their mysterious benefactor has left the organaisation a shadow of its former self. The time of the Cabal is nearing an end - something that most Suliban are most thankful to see.

The Suliban are, for the most part, comparable to humans in most respects, though their appearance can at first be...off-putting. A humanoid species spread over a wide area of space, the Suliban are easily idenifiable by their hairless bodies and rough, mottled green skin.

In the Earth year 1850 the Suliban homeworld was finally rendered uninhabitable after centuries of polluting industry ravaged the planet's ecosphere. Scattering across a wide area and adopting a largely nomadic lifestyle, the Suliban quickly became seen as little more than beggars, vagrants and refugees, wandering from planet to planet. The emergence of the Cabal did nothing to help this situation.

Equipped with technology and genetic enhancements well beyond anything the Suliban had previously developed, the Suliban Cabal quickly became a feared terrorist organisation, though their goals remained a mystery to all but themselves. Though the Cabal was feared and reviled across many lightyears of space, in truth none hated them more than the Suliban themselves, who, living in small communities on many alien worlds, faced persecution and the prospect of reprisals from angry neighbours. The Cabal also became known for kidnapping Suiban to incorporate into their ranks - the prospect of losing their children, their only hope of a better future, frightened the Suliban deeply.

The founding of the Federation was met with great joy by the Suliban for many reasons, but one most of all - the Federation represented a safe place for the Suliban to live in peace. Indeed, the Suliban continue to prosper happily on many Federation worlds to this day.
