I loved this one. My headcanon is that The Gibson has something to do with the eponymous MINERVA of Metastasis and Someplace Else. That's what she was alluding to when she said she played a role in humans discovering Xen teleportation.

Oh my gosh. I am so hyped for even just that update of Uprising Episode 1! I already love that thing as a complete game!
Will Episode 2 be released on the workshop or as a sourcemod for EZ2? Y'all did the best work I've ever seen done with the main menu in this franchise, especially in storytelling, and I think it'd be a shame if you can't do that for the sequel if it's an EZ2 bonus map campaign.
I'm curious, is the mutant cure rebalanced? Like it doesn't have an effect on Frank Horrigan in vanilla and as far as I know there is no mod that changes that.
They already did that in January.

For whatever reason this is breaking the "Forget About Freeman" audio track and making the Shocktrooper not move to grab the scientist in their introductory scene so you just straight up don't see who killed the guard and took the scientist.
Yea it definitely makes sense that the expectations got overwhelming. Heck I didn't use to play Half-Life mods and didn't even finish the games before this year. 6 years ago I beat Half-Life 1 and then gave up halfway through HL2 from not liking it and just thought of HL1 as a standalone game. When I heard this year that Entropy Zero 2 ended the series satisfyingly the franchise came alive for me again. I checked out Opposing Force and the popular HL Universe mods along with EZ2, finally finished the HL2s, and found a lot of the top mods to just be more consistent with better game design and often better writing in general. It turned out a lot of mods ended up living up to the spirit of Half-Life better than HL2 ever did for me in a rather Tamriel Rebuilt kind of way, and now I'm way more interested in what modders are doing with the franchise than what Valve's doing. After those y'all were the number one upcoming mod on the list for taking opportunities that were missed (or canceled) with your own story in your own way.
What I can say on those expectations is just keep on doing what you've been doing (hopefully avoiding imposter syndrome), tell the story you want to tell how you want to tell it, and remember that we can wait. We've been getting an embarrassment of riches in mods lately so there's plenty to play and appreciate in the meantime; personally I still need to try Swelter!
The Game crashes when I try to load up the training mission with the error "Mod_NumForName: models/couch1.mdl not found" and it looks like the title drop, opening osprey ride and cutscene are skipped when starting a new game.
Ah Employee8 just uploaded the full soundtrack to Youtube so I got to just work from there now; thank you very much!
Looks nice though Experience is mispelled.
No I mean it doesn't say who wrote each track or the official song titles, and based on the youtube channel some are CW3D while others are Employee8.
As Marc Laidlaw has kept stating over the decades, Half-Life has never had canon, so why worry about it?
Like I said, those don't have credits. The only ones with tags in there are inherited from Entropy Zero 1.
I made full English subtitles for Echoes as part of MetahookSV!

You can download them here and quick install with MetahookSV!
Do know that the other plugins need work/testing, so I just recommend using CaptionMod.dll. The install also includes a file for Closed Captions you can use via renaming, but I consider that a work in progress until I get feedback from someone who didn't write every single caption.
Definitely feel free to leave some feedback or questions here or elsewhere, I made a reddit post and a steam forum post a bit ago and I'll keep an eye out on issues posted on that github. I definitely need people to try those Closed Captions to go any further on that.
Can y'all make the soundtrack available for download? There's only a few parts uploaded to the official youtube channel with credits and you can only get the tracks from the game's files, but gosh there's so many great tracks and I'd love to download them all for my Half-Life playlist with their proper credits!
I know there's an unshackled Vortigaunt model on moddb as an addon for Anti-Climax, but it was a made by someone who's now banned and you can see straight through the neck from the side, so I eagerly wait for a better model to replace it on all the mods that take place after HL1 like Poke646, Fate Reversal, and of course Anti-Climax.
Install 7zip or a program like it to open it.
I wonder where all the Vortigaunts went. Maybe they moved on to help cut off other dimensions from the Combine.
Dang is there a version of this for mods without MMod? I don't see a need to use MMod with Research and Development so I'd like to be able to use it with just that, especially since you don't have an HEV suit in that so the crosshair health bar is all you get.
Oh... that sounds like a really dang important framework for a Counter-Strike campaign. Thank you
Ooo I'm excited for this! I'm curious how well this'll fit alongside Thunder's Leaves portrayal of the world post-Episode 2. (Definitely do what you want; I just find piecing together great mods into canon and headcanoning what's going on in relation to each other very fulfilling.)
Bug reporting: The gluon gun viewmodel and the icons for guns like it, the crossbow, the emplacement gun, and the Tau Cannon seem broken on this one. The patch by default doesn't use the HL2MMod custom folder, and setting it to do so does bring the Gluon gun model in but it uses the weapon switch animation for firing and the icons are still broken. Trying to use different addons for the Gluon gun and the icons doesn't seem to affect it for whatever reason.
Ooooo, I love how distinct they all are. Excellently done!
I'm loving the mod so far, but looks like the mines aren't set up properly for the controller HUD so that it appears awkwardly diagonally on the hud_fastswitch 2 menu instead of on the dpad inputs. I know MMod also has this problem for its new weapons with a separate fix, can you fix that here?
Aforementioned MMod fix:

The fact that it is specifically Rosenburg is so weird.
It really seems like the mod plays to how we remember Half-Life rather than the specifics of it, as Gordon's Worst Day on the Job; ultimately I think it's better for it with the tone it creates and how it completely recreates Black Mesa in a way that feels very right to the spirit of the place, but is architecturally entirely different. The nighttime nuke scene is so haunting.
I think it really fits if you put it with how the mod is framed in the menus, as an interview performance for G-Man. G-Man does not care about the protag to the point that he did not even record their name and you do not learn anything about your protagonist as a person, and with his space and time warping he may not even care what time it actually was beyond the start as a formality. To him this is just another day on the job, so it starts at day and goes to night when his job is done, and you were done.
Ooooo I really like using this for Residual Life because it feels pretty in character for a time loop protagonist to demonstrate an efficient grasp of weaponry in a bizarre way. It feels like an odd compliment to the surreality of that mod, when I don't know if I'd use them for any other Half-Life protag. Thank you very much for this.
Ah the problem models were "w_suit.mdl" and "w_antidote.mdl" with "w_antidotet.mdl" deleting those from my addon folder set them back and they still fit perfectly with the LD pack.
