Great mod, but the settlement textures for buildings atleast for the roman culture is pitch black.

Yeah i agree, but i was refering to this mod when i replied and i haven't experienced any end-turn crashes yet. The after-battle crashes when you're having a glorious victory is so frustrating.

Yeah there is still issues the developers are constantly trying to stabilize the mod, but it's hard. The crashes has reduced a lot in my opinion from the earlier stages, so it's improving stability-wize. Still not perfect though. And after-battles crashes are the worst crashes of them all. I understand the frustration!

Yeah you're right. Same goes with chinese settlements in the same city-size atleast. I repported the bug on the discord. Thanks!

So 10 months has past since last update and it would be great to hear some news about the state of the mod, to move forward from the hiatus that it is now. I really hope it isn't dead because i really love the ambition for the mod.

Is that the case for hotseat aswell as i was trying? The normal campaign works fine, it's the hotseat campaign that has incorrect placement for the factions. For me anyway!

Edit:
No meaning to sound harsh in any way, just responded quickly due to being a bit busy at the moment. I will dm you with a screenie so you can see what i mean. Cheers!

I have played an older version of the mod. Loved it! I wanted to test the 1207 version and try a few factions at the same time with the hotseat function. When choosing factions on the campaign map the factions are not located at the right place on the map and the game crashes when choosing factions. Just wanted to let you know if no one else has reporting this issue.

Thanks for the advice but i have windows 10 atm and the game already have full control.

I usually saves manualy with saves like three kingdoms 1, 2, 3 etcetera when playing hotseat with a few different factions as i do now. I always save the turn number when every new turn starts. I came around the bug with loading turn 3 which worked with correct ui and then directly load the three kingdoms save from turn 4 that doesn't loaded from the menu.

So i found a way around but it was quite tedious until i solved it.

Unfortunately everytime i restart the game it still happen all the time. So the issue is with this version, tested with my old 4,5 version and the game loaded correctly with right ui for the faction. I might try to download the obsolete versions one by one instead of the all for one version to see if the bug is still there. I won't reinstall med2 and all 24 mods at another folder when this is the only version that doesn't work. Such a shame cause i was eager to play with Yue:s new chosen unit. Thanks for the reply and the help anyway.

Hi Developer. I believe this is the first time i post on this mod. I have to state first that this mods gives you such a diversity and immersion this mod have is at the very top for med2 mods.

I have the mod up to date and encountered a bug i've not seen here before. The faction UI changed to the factions UI for the original faction as an example, Cao cao turns into England UI and the game crashes when clicking on anything. I tried to start a new campaign but the same issue occurs. I restarted the mod and tried different saves and finally it worked again as intentional.

I saw your article about not having the mod in program files x86 and i'm guilty to have all mods there. Not experienced any particular issues with your previous versions, only battle crashes when 4 armies or more meet each other on the battlefield.

Thanks for this fantastic mod and the great effort you and the team has given throughout the years.

Yes thanks a lot for that! Yes that is unfortunate that Paris and Berlin ain't included, but way better then before nonetheless.

Ok did go for large size, 120 riflemen is still better then 80.

Yes that was what i thougt, so large size for campaign is a better choice.

Thanks again!

Nope it crashed right upon first custom battle including tanks. As did the campaign battle when i tried. So something makes the game crash for the newer versions, but your sub-version and the first initial version works flawless. No crashes to speak of so far, but got bored to quickly because of the settlement-issue. But now i'm looking forward to test this version with the settlements. I really don't know if i should go for large or huge size of units. See in the preview pics that you tested with huge size but as you mentioned the pathfinding and stability might be an issue.

I really like to have the settings on huge, because it's more realistic imo, i also change the formation to a more outspread one
"formation 2.2, 2.2, 3.4, 3.4, 5, square"
(no line-infantry lines or not as dense anyway)

And by some miracle this version works for me. Great, no more barbarian settlements to conquer.

Just have to share. i just tried siege battle in campaign with the german empire against Leningrad and there was some leftover textures from rome, and also the ground was hollow in some parts, other then that the battle worked and the city still with some flaws look great.

Tinuvieltinuviel - - 60 comments @ Total War : 1942

Yeah probably. Yeah i just patched the rome tw and barbarian exe with the laa as in the old instructions. I did not patch the play 1942.exe as in the mod in your comment. That might be it.

For the record i watched a gudea tw mod rewiever and he also experienced crashes in campaign with every battle. So maybe include the laa instructions in the newest patch to make it easier to install proberly. But i will check if it works first, if your suggestion was about to patch the new exe "play 1942.exe". Thanks again for the patience.

Edit: It didn't work. It really bugs me that the battles works just fine in the 1.3 patch, but not for the 2.1. If anyone else with windows 10 and steam version of rome have experienced the same issues and found a way to make it work. Please help! :)

Nope it didn't work in campaign either with battles. I hope i can manage to reinstall the 1.3 and the ongoing campaign there.

Such a shame because i love the strat map cities and custom battle settlements.

Edit: i managed to make my old 1.3 campaign work, and somehow my soviet border generals and Stalin could move last time, but now nobody is able to move at all right now. Other then that it seems to work.

I see! I really want to play the campaign, and thought the battles would crash both in custom battles as in the campaign map battles. I played at the great lakes so no city map.

If i would try the 2.01 campaign again, is there a better way then renaming the old 1942 folder as i did to test the 2.01 and still being able to take up my recent 1.3 campaign? From what i know you recomend to delete the old files as they might interfer on one another.

I just maybe have to reinstall(delete) it and keep the save-file.

Hope it makes some sense, and thanks for the reply.

So the version i am currently playing is the new 2.0 version with the patch and bug fixes.Running on Windows 10. I have steam, but just used the play 1942 bat. I can't play any custom battles, the mod crashes when pushing the start deployment button. There was no such crashes with the 1.3 mod i played briefly a long time ago. Even with many tanks involved. Seems strange but is there anythinh else that might cause the game crashes that i am unaware of? I'm not that used to rome tw mods, long time since i played anything else then just the mentioned 1.3 build of this mod that worked well for me.

Edit: I saw there was a LAA that could be applied that is not seen from first sight when looking at the files list. I have no clue if i patched the exe:s in the 1.3 patch before but that might solve it.

edit 2: It did not solved it. I only use 1 general unit, 1 tank unit and 1 infantry unit. Still crashes. Used the exact same units for 1.3 and it worked like a charm.

Hi! Stupid question maybe, but how to make the game fullscreen? I can't end turns right now. I'm more used to medieval 2, and to change their cfg.

Nevermind, got it to work by changing in the preferences.

Another question though, are the soviet generals suppose to be idle and then by some script be able to move, or are they given no moving points whatsoever? Thanks in advance guys. Great mod!

Of course, take your time. I understand it's quite time consuming. Thanks for the reply, and good luck!

Oh, i have to remind you again about the engine overhaul project that i used for the old build of this mod, that lead to zero crashes involving monster units in battle. Worth checking it out and include in your mod.

Hello! Great to see that you've managed to almost complete this mod with far better unit-rosters. One question though, are there any chance that you will complete the unit names (to not have almost everyone in unlocalised placement)anytime soon? Thanks in advance!

An advice is to use Youneuoy:s Engine overhaul project. He has a creature fix that fixes the crashes when using creatures such as spiders.

Good luck!

I fully agree that it's a damn shame that the mod is so prone to crashes. I mean it even crashes when not using "monster-units". Very unstable. The Botet mod that also has a lot of monster-units like giants and dragons works much better.
