The mod covers the historical period of the decline of the Roman Empire and the Barbarian invasions from the reign of Julian II the Apostate to the death of Justinian the Great.

I tried to collect in this mod all the best, both previously developed and abandoned, like the unfinished East of Rome mod.

I must warn you right away that the M2TW engine is weak, a 4gb patch is required for the game (located in the mod folder).

Special thanks to julianus_heraclius, Mr_Nygren, Razor, Valyrian_Legionnaire

The mod will be published after March 18, 2024.

Have a nice time everyone!

I would be especially grateful for financial support:

The mod was created based on the projects of the Invasio Barbarorvm II (IBII) team:

Invasio Barbarorvm II

The mod itself, judging by the name, touches on the mid-4th century AD. reign of Julian the Apostate. Events in fashion are developing very dynamically. This is a time of change and testing for the Roman Empire. Constant attacks from nomads and barbarians, bloody civil wars, growing pressure, both socially and religiously, due to the chaotic growth of cultic religions, including Christianity. This is a legacy of the 3rd century, in which the empire was strangled by external and internal threats. But the great Illyrian emperors (Claudius II Gothicus, Aurelian, Probus, Carus and Diocletian) managed to maintain the borders of the turbulent empire and gather its lands into a single whole. This tension persisted until the mid-4th century, easing in the subsequent period. Constantine was the first Roman emperor to realize the need for a single state religion for the entire empire. For the first time in history, a Roman emperor was baptized and Christianity became the officially dominant religion. Julian, nicknamed “The Apostate” (a young talented commander who expelled the Germans from Gaul across the Rhine, gained fame and the imperial throne) sought to revive the pagan faith. He dreamed of the glory of Alexander the Great, preparing for campaigns to the east. Are his plans, his SOMNIUM APOSTATAE IULIANI, destined to come true?!

I tried to collect in this mod all the best, both previously developed and abandoned, like the unfinished EoR mod.

I must warn you right away that the M2TW engine is weak, a 4gb patch is required for the game (located in the mod folder).

Very interesting mod. I've played it for a few hours. I've tried all campaigns shortly and in each of them I've used the toggle fog of war off console command, to see the world map, armies dispositions etc.
I would like to bring something to the developer's attention. Perhaps he can tell me the reasons of these choices.

-Most settlements of all factions have no garrison and are on the verge of revolt, at the very start of every campaign...

-Hunnic Armies and other non-roman factions have extremely few armies, maximum of 3 full stacks, while in some cases the Romans have double that number and in a very close zone too, this makes several campaigns unbalanced and makes the Romans OP.

-On some campaigns generals have no loyalty (Even Belisarius, which was one of the most loyal generals in Roman History)

Now, I have a question, are there any scripted invasions, historical battles scenarios at a certain turn, armies spawning at some point in the campaign? Because if not, it just feels too easy to conquer the whole world map, especially with Rome always controlling two half of the world map basically. Invasions don't feel like invasions at all, there should be wayyy more full stack armies, their amount as of now is ridicolously low...

Garrisons are kept to a minimum due to critical crashes during the game, I think recruiting vigils on the first turn is not a problem. The emphasis is on Rome primarily due to the diversity of the troop line. Unfortunately, the limit of units has been exhausted; in the latest update we had to remove some and add others. Scripts are kept to a minimum as the number of critical errors increases. When I started the mod, unfortunately I didn’t know about the weakness of the M2TW engine. I already tried to cram as much as possible into the mod, unfortunately it doesn’t work without crashes. M2TW is designed for very simple mods.
