Looks rather like Apophysis fractals :).

That's a bit of an idiotic comment, TKAzA.
By that reasoning, you therefor have no right to ever critisize a commercial game (since to "real" developers, you're just a user too), and if dethtoll were indeed a modder, you would take his comments seriously.
Also by not accepting feedback - good and bad - from gamers/users, what exactly is the point of "modders" ever releasing anything? Maybe you'd prefer some little closed community where the only people allowed to participate are people who make mods. I'm sure you'll enjoy getting loads of feedback from your 5-man user base. At least it'll be positive feedback though.
I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with any of the comments with regards to KF, or those made by dethtoll, but TKAzA, you are hardly doing anything for the "image" of modders. If anything, that attitude will do nothing but turn more users away from the mod scene. Obviously that dosn't help anyone.
Indeed, I'm a huge BF fan :D. Was just wondering if that's actual gameplay, which I guess it is ;).
OK sorry, I see in the actual gallery it says they're in-game :).
Awesome :)
Quick, possibly silly question - are things like that plane, and previously posted vehicles playable in-game, or are these carefully constructed static scenes?
Looking forward to playing this.
I'm freezing my backside off here down South in mid-Winter :P
I think he's referring to the image "CGuard In Game Screenshot", there's a big square cut-out effect around the distortion thing :)
*Agree*
/me looks at the news page as it stands right now
Clearly some people don't bother reading this sort of news before posting their own...
*sigh*
Aww, I want a UT2004 version :P ;)
Our coder Childe is not working on the next big feature
Gotta love those typos :P
Woah!
Amazing! Can't wait to try it :D
Hmm, I must be too used to reading CliffyB and Tim Sweeney interviews, cause Gabe's answers all sure seem rather short and abrupt :P
Just wanted to say thanks to modDB for hosting these awards, and thanks also to the guys who have been voting :). UnWheel's 1st place in Driving mod of the year has attracted quite a bit of attention to it, for which we are very grateful.
Thanks again, and congrats to all winners :).
Pong for teh_win!
Cool :D
I quite like Last Exile, so I'd like to see this mod being playable ;)
Please make some real thumbnails next time :P Slowing down the whole front page here :(
Nice pics and way :D
Cool, I didn't know you could register other ppl's mods :D
Thanks
I though the UT2003 engine was supposed to be 'next generation' too :D.
But I wonder how many of these mods which are currently starting up for these as-yet-unreleased games will actually ever see the light of day?
I tried Half Life once... Bored me to death. I think everyone's just looking forward to it for the mods and another Counter-Strike (which none of the current Counter-Strikers will be able to play cause right now it runs fine on their l33t Pentium IIs with 8Mb AGP cards...)
Doom 3, well it looks like they're just making one massive gore-fest with such high system requirements that no-one will be able to play it... Look how everyone moans about the requirements for Unreal 2 for example, then try to imagine what it'll be like for Doom 3.
Halo 2... Don't have an X-Box so it won't affect me in any way...
What I'll be looking forward to is Deus Ex 2, the first one kept me entertained for ages. And it uses the Unreal engine so I guess I'll end up playing it regardless... :P
From my experiance, the Unreal engine's UnrealScript makes it by far one of the most versitile and easy to modify engines around.
Just stay away from the GUI stuff :D
I have a suggestion - I'm not too sure how you'd want to handle the main site features/comments/polls (I guess the results of this poll would decide that), but how about making it an option in the mod profiles just the same as you can disable/enable voting for your mod.
That way people can enable it for their specific mod only if they don't mind what Guests might have to say, and those who do can just turn it off.
Same could go for comments on personal profiles.
Just an idea ;)
This is completely awesome...
Will there be real-time damage?
No, as I don't think there's a way for UT2003 to dynamically deform meshes. It's been suggested that the cars be made up of lots of parts which are replaced with damaged looking versions to simulate body damage, but that would cause massive lag and then under laggy conditions your war would be in 6 to 8 different places ;)
Can players get our of cars?
Nope :P The maps are going to be pretty large, and you can't really do anything in a driving game outside of a vehicle, so there's not much point to jumping out, unless you want to be run over :)
Environments
There is absolutely no restriction on where maps are based. Wide open terrain, Gran Turismo style city streets, or even Micro Machines type maps would all work very well.
Will there be a demo?
I suppose it's not really 'normal' for a mod to release a demo, but I'm being flooded with requests for a small demo featuring a vehicle and map. I am looking into it, and I think it's likely it will feature the Peugeot 206 and the desert map shown in the first promo image and second image on the news post I made here at modDB.
Thanks for all the comments and support ;)
Implementation of what? All the vehicles you see already work 100% perfectly in-game if that's what you mean ;)
