Please, make an option to turn off the custom HUD. I just want some better looking sprites to play with classic WADs, a lot of which have custom mug and status bar (like Eternal Doom or Memento Mori).

After the thorough reinstallation and new game - everything works fine!

One minor question though - can I mod seax's swing attacks back into the game? Didn't touch Warband's modding for seven years, so I'm a bit rusty on that.

No, absolutely nothing! My game version is from GoG, but it is also up to date (2.054) and I had no such problem with unmodded version. Moreover, I already tried to reinstall the game, but it didn't help. Maybe I should also clean up the registry, will try to reinstall again, because now I also have another glitch with bandit infestation - it says that the village is infested by "multiplayer profile troop male".

I cannot fathom what could affect my game in such way. I have only Warband and Viking Conquest installed, without Napoleonic Wars. I save a lot though, maybe it's the problem?

I have a weird glitch with the new recruitment system:

I'm playing with 3D town scenes enabled, and when I get to the recruitment screen, the interfaces says I have some number of volunteers available, but at the background I see more people standing around. While there is a row of six or so people, the game says I can recruit only two of them.

Is this normal or did I broke my game in some way?

I don't have proper post-game screen. After I finish skirmishes, I have no score screen, no buttons, just broken artwork. It does work, so if I press keyboard buttons, the game responds, but I can't navigate it.
Am I doing something wrong? I saw similar issues on the forums, but nobody commented on that.

I don't really think there is a need for new implementations - just general polishing will be enough (but as people have said - shotguns could use a bump, since a load of buckshot in the head can leave even a blind dog standing).
It seems you've fixed the 7,62 AP rounds already, just check out grenade idle animations, because I saw a guy commenting in the OWR patch section about the same issues I had in version 2 (idle animation bug).

Will this mod ever be picked up again by the author? AO is so immersion breaking with all those new and shiny guns, but this one is just about right. Sadly, lots of glitches and balance issues still - so jealous of AO and all the care from its author.

Just noticed that 7.62 machine gun rounds (ammo_pkm_100) don't have full name in game, because in weapons.ltx their inv_name set to ammo-7.62x54-ap_s, just like their inv_name_short. Both full and short names are present in st_items_weapons.xml though.
Just posting it to let you know that this bit above about midget was spot on. Wasn't planning on sleeping anyway.

It appears OWR tried to change the name for PKM 7,62 rounds. In original game files their descriptors and names are branded as 7,62-AP, whilst OWR rebranded those as 7,62-PKM.
So you still have normal ammo for PKM, but there are still couple of rows about AP roudns in config file for some reason, so this ghost ammo spawns sometimes.

A lot of stashes became infinite - they spawn their loot again and again each time you open them. Wasn't an issue in 03 patch.
And, please, remove the artifact container - it still spawns in stashes on every 1.4 patch. They cost 5k and can be found even on Cordon.

Is it possible to have only bugfixes without AI mod?
I just deleted the AI folder in bugfix directory - but I still have the option to turn some ai tweaks on in skirmish (they probably won't work now, or the game will crash).
