Looks cool, is there a demo?
Oh, thank you again!
I found another small bug while fixing vsync: if you click that bottom left button and then start the game again, it will say that Rotion did not exit properly.
BTW, no problems with enabled vsync so far. I use Debian stable with NVidia proprietary drivers.
Hello!
I am experiencing very, very bad tearing while moving vertically in game. It is so nasty that my eyes start to bleed and I stop playing. What can I do with it?
Unfortunately, this IS a hallucination. I can only download old 1.0 version with broken libopenal.so.0 dependency :(
ModDB page contains only mapping tool.
Hi, it's me again!
Everything works perfectly now! Big thanks to the developer for quick responses and good Linux support, I'll definitely buy the game!
Probably not :P
I misread your post, sorry. I thought that the game is updated already.
Unfortunately, errors are the very same. Rotion binary and sfml libraries require GLIBC_2.14, and libsfml-network requires 2.15.
64bit Debian with proprietary Nvidia drivers, everything is ok.
1) Check the drivers. Make sure 32-bit libraries are installed too.
2) Run the game from a terminal and check the output.
I'd love to see something like "survival mode" and "duel mode vs AI warlock".
Well, it's not OK at all.
You should not satisfy dependencies for standalone applications like games on Desura manually with your package manager. Libraries in a repository may be eventually updated to incompatible version or even removed. And developers of such applications, on their end, should NEVER rely on user's libraries.
Looks interesting, can't wait to try demo!
But your run scripts and libraries are totally messed. "desura_launch_Play.sh" sets $LD_LIBRARY_PATH as usual and starts "run_harvest", but then "run_harvest" exports its own $LD_LIBRARY_PATH! And nothing works, of course. You should synchronize the scripts in some way.
Also, Desura does download missing libCgGL, but does NOT download missing libalut. Could you include it too? (Of course, I can download everything with system package manager, but this way is bad, IMO).
I hope you'll fix it ASAP!
P.S. Oh, I forgot to mention: my OS is Debian (stable).
Does not work on Debian stable. Here is the error message:
/lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.14' not found (required by /mnt/data/games/desura/common/rotion/Rotion)
You should not build the game with the latest compilers!
Go to www.jamendo.com and search for the band "Obsidian Shell". You can freely download and share their songs under CC license.
It's not really that hard.
You just aim at your enemy with the mouse and then shoot with the left mouse button.
Easy and fun, isn't it? :)
Check the missing libraries with "ldd et.x86" and install them (install the i686 packages, not the x86_64 ones).
Read the posts below before complaining. You can use et-sdl-sound script with older binary for sound and edit /etc/hosts for "empty server list" bug.
Maybe we can schedule matches sometimes? Who can bring up a server? Or maybe we can meet on a random server at a pointed time, can't we?
Oh, this means that et-sdl-sound script does not work for you. You should "rm ./et.x86 && mv ./et.x86.real ./et.x86" and then google for another solution. Good luck!
How to fix "empty server list" bug:
Etmaster.net
Note that the sound fix won't work if you decide to use fixed exe!
ULTIMATE LINUX ONE-LINE SOUND FIX (with workarounds for Desura).
Firstly, cd to your W:ET installation dir (under ~/desura/common), then do this:
Pastebin.com
Then you just run the game with Desura and enjoy :)
All the solutions I've found are:
1) Try to use padsp or pasuspend (in case of PulseAudio)
2) Download some sort of a patch (all links were dead, lol)
3) Try to append some magic strings to a file somewhere in /proc
None of them work for me. I use 64-bit Fedora 16 with PulseAudio. Please help.
Linux? Great great great, even if the game is just wrapped in a DosBox! I'll buy it asap.
Any chance we would get Fallout: New Vegas on Linux?
//lol jk

No sound in OpenJDK? FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU and 1/10. I'm VERY disappointed.
FYI, Oracle now restricts distribution of Oracle (Sun) JDK via Linux distros' repositories.
I really do not want to install Oracle JDK just for the game.
Thanks for your work, devs! Very nice game, but slightly overpriced, IMO.
>lunix is horrible lol i like windows
Desura is available for windows as well, so what's the problem?
Hmm... Strange, but I experience bugs that are marked "fixed" in changelog. Especially background scrolling in town and very very buggy sound effects.
I've noticed that if I mute the SFX in the settings, everything runs very smoothly and without freezes.
Also, with SFX enabled, pavucontrol shows me A LOT of java's playback channels. Maybe it is somehow connected with sound problems and freezes, I don't know.
No, no, no. This will destroy the whole atmosphere and the SOUL of the game.
And what kind of campaign do you want? A nuclear war ends rapidly, there is no room for the campaign :)
