Wild to imagine I designed that helmet (minus the horns) 3-4 years ago, great work!

This is one of many, there are different types of orc, tiers of orc weapons and arms, and location based armours, see this as a variation and not what every single orc will be dressed in :D
Heart eyes for these guys
I appreciate your determination but Mordor is going to be an absolute beast of a faction!
Cheers for the support chaps!
I appreciate your concern, but what if i told you it will have basic facial expressions and open its mouth fully with roars through animation, where you'll see his nasty gaping maw! If he had his mouth open all the time it would be wierd no? :)
Some feedback on what you mean by that? :)
Tbh the weta reference has even longer fingers, in my defense!
Looking forward to seeing players attempt to repel these beasts of the east when they play as Gondor! Will your soldiers stand their ground? (Probably not)
And cheers for the kind words guys its highly appreciated, had an absolute blast making this guy, more trolls from the films in due time :)
Great replica John, too many mods miss this armour set altogether!
Ugh thats such a good way to do it John, would b really cool to see their own coat of arms represented!
Damn... a little too good perhaps :P
Damn, this is impressive and very exciting!
Only just seen this comment, super appreciate it man, I'm learning 3d atm so thats where my energy is going at the moment :D
A taster of some of the designs; Artstation.com
To the last detail... fuckkk, really like the helmet strap buckles, and ofc everything!
See you at 12.30 GMT guys!
Yeah, would have liked to see a proper one handed warhammer for the dwarves, like really streamlined and small, could be used logically very well with their stature!
Yeah Ive got Instagram too if you wanna see some more Harad/Easterling/Corsair (The fun Evil factions) artwork and allsorts of other personal painting/sketch projects :)
(Working on Serpent Guard atm)

Yeah there's a few issues, theres even quite a few in Lotr but its less noticeable, some of the artists in The Hobbit, Wetas end, really wanted to push it out of lotr artistically and into a a more extreme and heavier typical fantasy thing. Hated what they did to the orcs though, boring as hell, they could have gone a different direction altogether and still had a cool look
That being said, some of the dwarvern armour was very well done, there's concepts for middle tier troops with less armour and more scale mail etc that look amazing!
E.g. Look how great these are aha Wetaworkshop.com
I believe horses have been quite heavily customised, in saddle, padding/coats for the swan knights horses and various horse armour elements. As for goat cav, it has been confirmed many times they wont be in the mod, sorry.
Ofc the movies have flaws, but it captured the imagination perfectly and had a really iconic art direction. The Last Days (warband modification) tried a book art direction completely and it looked very odd. Blending the two will work for factions not in the films and other units.
Shadow of War is a game that armours up a god damned Balrog to make it "cooler" and then proceeds to have the player shoot the back of it in its "weak spots" with ghost arrow looking things because "cool" as you forward roll under its legs because its got dumb ai, moves slowly in one direction and is a depth-less money grabbing game...
Love the chainmail on the buildings though!11111

Concept Artist for Kingdoms of Arda and Rise of Mordor Currently: Harad + Umbar(Haradrim peoples and Corsairs) My goal is to explore factions barely shown in the LOTR films but present in the books. (e.g. Easterlings, Harad) and use the books and our history to fill in the gaps in an interesting and awesome way. (Hopefully!) I work digitally in Photoshop and can also sculpt organic matter models in zbrush. I draw my concepts on a wacom tablet with mixed inspirations from our medieval History, Weta, Game-Artists, Concept art and Tolkien!
