Unit suggestion: Hero of Kvatch (equipped with the Imperial dragon armour) accompanied by the Knights of the Nine. You can recruit this unit as soon as the Oblivion Crisis begins.

Yup, intermediately when they spawn I send a diplomat. They desperately accept peace and alliance deals because they are at war with all the other factions

yes legacy of rome. The Republic and some portraits are recommended

Jaysen I read somewhere in the comments that mount & blade is a big inspiration for you guys. Does that mean that the factions will have a leader, lords and other characters we can interact with? (battles, quest, etc.)

Looking good! One question: is the growth of a village/city visible on the map? For example will there be more farm tiles?

About the request for level designers. I am willing to help you, just tell me where to start. I only worked with the oblivion construction set, but I am sure I will figure out the skyrim version soon enough.
