I tried something similar with HL2DM. You may run into problems with hitting the entity limit since it requires a lot of func_breakables

No video tutorials, it makes it hard to work at your own pace.

You might try using propper (http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Propper) to convert some of those brushwork supports into models. It would probably increase performance.

How did this jump to the most popular mod, It doesn't seem like there have been any updates.

To be honest, I don't see how having your account hacked would have any effect on what you had already done. The .vmf and .bsp files are stored locally, so having your account stolen wouldn't require you to remake anything.

best singleplayer mod I've played. Only critcism is how short the game is.
