Hello, you need "Source SDK Base 2007" installed from the "Tools" library.
No, you only need Source SDK Base 2007 (in the Tools library), which comes free with Steam.
Anyone can play this mod for free without buying any games.
Cro_net, some servers are still on bg2 2.1, that's probably the problem. It will take a few days for all servers to patch up, I guess. Check if the servers you are joining are actually 2.1.1 servers.
Saivert, this is up to the server owners. We know some servers have strict rules, but you don't have to linebattle: there is usually a skirmishing server up at the same time.
Fence textures could be aligned better...

Okay. I'll start by saying: Do NOT give up. Those days or weeks where you feel like everything you make sucks, and you see no solution are part of modding. My mod died because of this: everyone was in that phase and we just declared it dead. A few weeks later I felt really sorry that I had abandoned a project with such great potential. You just have to struggle trough it.
I personally liked the demo. You have a talent for scaring people. Judging from the demo you should aim to improve the looks of your scenes and also find some good music to build up the tension between scare moments. If you feel like your mapping sucks right now, try to focus on something else for a while like making textures or finding that music.
Just look at these comments man, you released a 5 minute demo and everybody loved it!

Use a smoothing group on the pillar! It will fix the stupid shadows it currently has.
I can always host listen servers for sourcemods of all engines, but for this mod it didn't work. I used the usual net_start, sv_lan 0 and changelevel ritual but my friend couldn't find the server. We try out mods quite regularly, and this is the first time I wasn't able to host a listen server... I don't know what the problem is, but there is a problem :P

Just add all the custom textures / models to your own mod folder then?

A bit ashamed that I have to ask this, but is the top right image the HL1 mod version? I can't tell :P
Tested it with a friend, we both crash when trying to connect to a server the 2nd time, or on mapchange (ie. I can connect once, or play one map, after that it crashes).
The story is awesome indeed, although you can tell it's not written by a native english-speaker. Perhaps you could ask an American or British friend to correct some things and make it read more smoothly?
Won't both the old and new skin be used at the same time, making every militiaman look more unique?
Right, to make it work you must make sure that your steam language is english (In steam -> Settings -> Interface -> Language: English) I had this before with another mod, apparantly theres a problem with generating a language specific folder like most other mods do (eg bg_dutch or rnl_dutch or something)
