btw im here to report some stuff happening in the mod, whenever an explosion of the grenade launcher or the pipebomb happens the game crashes the moment you pause wich is a bit problematic in case you try to quiclky load after accidentally killing yourself with it, guess the solution is to git gud and stop using explosives at close range for the moment lol
I have to say that Im loving this mod, thank to you i got stuck in Duke Nukem back again, so much that now im going with the other expansions like the Caribbean one, so that makes me wonder, is this mod be compatible with those expansions? i kinda have an idea to try but still im asking in case you made the mod with them in mind
Aight,thanks!
Personally I found this version of Project Brutality more fun to play than most recent versions, sure the new animations in 3.0 looks smooth and detailed, but kind of becomes tedious after a while with weapons that takes forever to reload. This version lacks some of the stuff from 3.0 but I prefer this over the overdone 3.0
well, after playing for a while I can confirm this wad definitely needs a little bit of extra ammo in the levels, maybe an extra ammo box in every part were is placed one already
After a while of not playing it, its far better than before! I got a suggestion, do you think you could add a cvar so the nightmare zombies coul randomly replace the regular zombiemen?
Indeed, i dunno what made them think giving pin-point accuracy and reaction time to the zombiemen would be great, and the forced sprint to move faster doesnt help that much, now the most dangerous enemies are ironically the zombiemen
Works perfect, do you think you could port the plasma rifle from platinum as well?
And how viable do you think could be to make a compact version?
I know is to use zdl but maybe that could help to make it compatible with weapon addons? I dunno tbh I just found the perfect weapon addon combo and that along this addon would make the game perfect to me
Nvm I figured it out, all I had to do is load Brutal Doom as the very last file in the list to get it working without losing anything, so here it is of someone is wondering how
Its perfect!
Well, seems theres a problem regarding the flamethrowers...
But at least for me its not a problem, I never use them anyway
Btw, could be posible for you to port the plasma blasters?
The ones that are available as addons for brutality as well?
Theyre not that useful but are fun to use
works as intended until I play a wad with custom font, is there a way to force the hud into these wads wich messes it up and keep it from working properly?
Everything's fine, except some changes in this last update:
TSC: evolved got broken with the last update, with landscapes flickering and if you quit during the mission and you continue, it will load the default TSC instead. Another thing that was kind of annoying is the new behavior of the enforcers projectiles, maybe decreasing the amount of time of the effect should do the job.
From firefight, I feel it well balanced, but for some reason it randomly crashed sometimes.
That's all the problems i got to advice from what I've seen so far, all the rest is just perfect, this mod in general is such a love letter for the fans
The effort put into this mod is phenomenal, this different environment give a fresh breath of air to the game compared to the normal one, and the way you repurpose stuff like animations or states in the npcs is so clever, like the way you reuse the pinky roar animation to force the doors, or the couple of civilians talking to you, but what impressed me more is the story, first you made a great twist a la Doom 1 where the installation happens to be in Hell, and the last one at the very end where is implied that everything what happened were just a videogame inside the installations of the UAC. Great job
I just figure out what was the responsible of my game crashing with the mod: the custom keybinds i did, could be cool to have the option to customize them if possble, other than that, I'm enjoying Quake II like I never did before thanks to you
I got a problem, doesn't matter what I do, if I try to load a game, it just crashes, I dunno what I may be doing wrong, but im sure I followed the steps as you wrote them
OMG this looks amazing! I'm definitely trying this out
Oh yeah I forgot that these mods usually are compilations of the community maps so its more like that features would be included if the mappers feel like adding them in the first place. Anyway, I'll try being more careful then when selecting a way or the other, bc I usually start roaming randomly to find secrets instead of choosing a definitive path to start.
Thanks for the tips
I have to say that what you have done with this mod is monumental, not only the variety of levels and themes, enemies and some weapons, but also the new mechanics introduced in the game as well.
Just that there is one single complain I have: The large maps. They're not bad by any means but would be cool to have some kind of guide either by some kind of 3d map or some signs around to remind you where specific doors are located in order to progress, and as long as I've seen, there is only one map doing that.
I got lost many times because of this to the point of having to noclip to find where to go next, I dunno if its just me or if someone has experienced the same, I think there should be at least hints considering the maps size.
But besides that is quite a lot of work and effort put into this mod, so what a great, epic, nice job
NGL I prefer this than regular view sprites, i know is mean to be centered bc of retro shooter stuff but I prefer a view where i can see a better detail of my weapons
I've been using the 2.5 version but anyway I figured out how to modify weapon stats so is no longer a problem. About the rest of the weapons all feel balanced except the rocket launcher that kill tough enemies like the arachnothrons with 2 instead of 3 shots, but I think is fair how it performs considering the enemies are aggresive as hell now.
Having quite a lot of fun but I dunno what to say about the supershotgun, feels kind of weak, it requires like 4 or even 5 shots to kill a Hell Knight, and I remember clearly that it only required 3 shots to kill them
I just started playing, everything fine but there's a problem that annoys me, for some reason the pinkies are still walking no matter what I do to get the fastmonsters working properly but yeah, all the rest fine
Finally the armor is useful in the game, I found ridiculous how the armor works in the original, you can literally die before having your armor decreased below 90, and I love the work you gave to the Cyberdemon, even I'd like to know how you speed up the animations, I'd like to do that for some of the demons in the mod I'm working on
I just installed the addon but for some weird reason the texture is messed up, looks like is being forced to use the original shotgun's texture, do I need a source port or something? If wondering Im using the 1.3.1 version, just as you specified in the readme and I'm not using any kind of mod.
